Return To The Black Parade: My Chemical Romance Is Coming To The Philippines!

My Chemical Romance, the pop-punk rock band that shaped most millennials’ views of rock, is coming to the PH!

If anyone ever said the phrase, “When I was a young boy,” fan or not, most millennials would follow up with, “My father took me to the city to see the marching band.” That sentence summons a whole generation of millennial parents who most likely had an emo, punk rock phase with My Chemical Romance leading the charge. And it looks like they’re coming here next year on April 25, 2026! The band will be performing their concert at Bulacan’s Philippine Arena, according to the post regarding their Southeast Asia Tour on Instagram.

It has been 17 years since they’re last performance. Now My Chemical Romance is coming next year!

The Angsty-Emo Phase: Every Millennial Parent’s Joy & Shame

Teen years are always angsty; it’s just that millennial parents will probably have a clearer memory of it. They’ll remember My Chemical Romance’s “Welcome To The Black Parade” blaring through their earphones or Skull Candy headphones as they kept to themselves in their rooms or the car.

It was probably also a confusing time for the millennials’ parents when they would hear My Chemical Romance. All the bright colors were thrown out of their wardrobes and replaced with black, black, and more black. Maybe a couple of black band T-shirts. Still, it was black nonetheless. Some of the millennials’ parents — who were most likely Gen X or Baby Boomers — were probably scratching their heads on how their pretty little princes and princesses suddenly turned into world-loathing, deeply-feeling vampires.

As for the millennials, what can we say? My Chemical Romance makes us feel things!

While “Welcome To The Black Parade” is My Chemical Romance’s most popular song, they have others such as “Helena,” “Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge,” and “Hang ‘Em High.” And based on their prior Instagram posts, this concert may be their “Long Live The Black Parade” tour as they are also featuring Swedish garage rock band The Hives as their guests.

Get Ready For The Black Parade!

While ticket prices haven’t been posted yet, their early date announcement at least allows us to block off the date and prepare for the trip to Bulacan. We’ve heard too many traffic and horror stories heading to the Philippine Arena that sometimes, we might just rent an Airbnb or hotel room instead to spare us from the horrendous traffic. And if our kids are too young to watch, maybe they can stay at their grandparents’ place for just a day? But if they want to join, why not?
