Egyptian Fencer Nada Hafez Competed In Olympics 7 Months Pregnant!

Egyptian fencer Nada Hafez shared that she’s 7 months pregnant after bowing out from her Round of 32

The Paris Olympics is in full swing and many Olympians have been making headlines whether they win or achieved their best results. Fencer Nada Hafez is the latest to make headlines not because of a medal but revealing that she competed while seven months pregnant!

The Egyptian athlete shared on Instagram about her experience. ” What appears to you as two players on the podium, they were actually three! It was me, my competitor, and my yet-to-come to our world, little baby!”

Nada wrote that she and her unborn child had challenges along the way.

“The rollercoaster of pregnancy is tough on its own, but having to fight to keep the balance of life and sports was nothing short of strenuous, however worth it.”

Nada wrote the post at the time she announced she made it to the Top 16 before bowing out of the competition.

Grateful for her husband

Nada also thanked her husband Ibrahim and her family for the support she has gotten since competing in the Olympics.

“This specific Olympics was different; Three times *Olympian* but this time carrying a little Olympian one,” she said.

Several of her followers praised for competing despite the delicate pregnancy.

“What a story to tell for your baby,” one follower wrote.

Although some expressed concern given her pregnancy, others wrote she was indeed “a true champion.”

Nada’s story is just one of many parent’s stories in the Olympics. US swimmer Ryan Murphy recently celebrated his win in the men’s 100m backstroke with his wife Bridget Konttinen announcing they’re expecting a baby girl.

Congratulations to Nada and who knows, her baby might become a future fencer.
