Parents Are Excited That One More Chance Will Become a Musical in 2024!
The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) announced on October 22 that the Star Cinema movie One More Chance that many teens — now parents — is turning into a musical in 2024!
One More Chance fans have something to look forward to in 2024. The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) confirmed on October 22 that One More Chance, the beloved movie starring John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo, will become a musical in 2024 with Ben and Ben’s music as part of the production.
It was announced during the musical Walang Aray where Ben and Ben made a special appearance to confirm the musical.
“An ICON for an ICON! Star Cinema’s cult classic meets the music of the massively popular and award-winning Filipino nine-piece band! Stay tuned for #PETAOneMoreChance with #BenAndBen! Coming this 2024!”
We’re still waiting for more details about the production. Ben and Ben joins other groups whose music was used in musical productions or inspired by its music. Rak of Aegis featured the music of Aegis. Then, Eto Na! Musikal nAPO! used music of Apo Hiking Society. Lastly, the music of Eraserheads inspired Ang Huling El Bimbo.
From screen to stage
One More Chance is one of Star Cinema’s biggest movies of 2007. It stars John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo as Popoy and Basha, whose relationship withstood many obstacles in the course of time.
The character’s lines were a hit among teens and adults of that time that it also became online memes. In 2015, a sequel was released called A Second Chance, which also became a big hit. Cathy Garcia-Molina directed both films.
We can’t wait to see how One More Chance becomes a musical in 2024!
