Paolo Contis Shares Emotional Reunion With Daughters Xalene and Xonia
The actor thanked his ex-partner Lian Paz and her fiancé John Cabahug for supporting the long-overdue visit
After years of distance, actor Paolo Contis reunited with his two eldest daughters, Xonia and Xalene, whom he shares with ex-partner Lian Paz. The emotional get-together took place with Lian and her fiancé, John Cabahug, present on that day.
On August 7, Paolo posted heartfelt photos of the reunion and took the opportunity to greet John on his birthday.
“Happy Birthday, John! I want to take this opportunity to thank you for allowing Lian and my kids nung araw na to. Oo, hinintay ko talaga ang birthday mo to publicly express my gratitude to you,” Paolo wrote.
A Message of Gratitude
In the same post, Paolo acknowledged Lian for facilitating the reunion and helping maintain peace through the years.
“You have always been kind and forgiving. This is why hindi kayo pinabayaan ni Lord. I appreciate all your efforts in talking to John about that day. Thank you for being strong and for how you nurtured the kids to have beautiful hearts,” Paolo said.
He added a personal promise: John, I cannot thank you enough for this chance. I promise to have constant communication sa inyong lahat. I will not waste this chance. Thank you for taking care of the kids. Please know that I am always here para sa inyong lahat.”
John responded warmly: “Pao, I appreciate your thoughtful birthday greeting. Thank you! I know you’re a good man, and I will also treasure our friendship. Andito lang kami, God bless Pao!”
Lian shared a verse from the Bible, seemingly reflecting the spirit of healing and renewal that the day brought.
Their Family Story
Paolo and Lian, formerly member of Eat Bulaga‘s EB Babes, got married in 2009 but separated in 2012. In a 2018 interview, Lian revealed she had been raising and supporting their daughters by herself.
Paolo later confirmed in a 2023 interview with Boy Abunda that he hadn’t seen the children since they moved to Cebu, and admitted he hadn’t provided financial support, though he hopes to set aside savings for them in the future.
Since relocating to Cebu, Lian has been in a relationship with John, with whom she shares a daughter. John has a child from a previous relationship.
Aside from Xalene and Xonia, Paolo has a daughter, Summer, with former partner LJ Reyes, who has since relocated to the U.S. and married Philip Evangelista.
