Today it was announced that Rhoda Campos-Aldanese lands the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MEGA Global Licensing Inc. (MGLI). On the way to becoming a media empire housing the biggest and boldest global media brands, Chairman and CEO of MGLI, Archie Carrasco, firmly believes in Campos-Aldanese’s 20 years of experience working with international brands. “I have no doubt she is the right chief that will expand MGLI’s business portfolio to reignite the Philippine media,” Carrasco shares.

Rhoda Campos-Aldanese has had a 20-year career in the luxury industry. She has trailblazed the growth, expansion, and elevation of some of the biggest brands in the market. Her vast retail experience illustrates her undeniable skill as a dominant player in the industry.

She began her journey managing menswear brands and developing private fashion and activewear labels for teen boys. Later on, she moved to work for beauty, jewelry, and fashion brands. Not long after, she reached the pinnacle of business by working with endless powerhouse brands around the world. These include Chanel, Dior, Clarins, Estée Lauder, La Prairie, Lancôme Montblanc, Piaget, Vacheron Constantin, Lanvin, and Christian Louboutin—to name a few. 

Her continuous pursuit for discovery and swift acquisition of brands contributed to the monopoly of prestige names under her portfolio. She reigns the market by constantly watching out for the next big thing. But what makes her character more remarkable is her talent for negotiation. She curates an exceptional offering through her resilience, curiosity, and love for acquiring and building brands with a compelling backstory.

A love for local

In every new endeavor, she stays true to her mission. She continuously creates a space for local industries for the world to see. With a higher purpose, Rhoda Campos-Aldanese also uplifts upcoming local talents and entrepreneurs. She was the co-founder of a cosmetics company, responsible for changing the beauty landscape by launching ads that communicate diversity. Vogue has differentiated itself far ahead from other publications with its editorial quality and industry distinction. With the acquisition of the global fashion authority’s local edition, MGLI is here to revamp the landscape by allowing the magazine to work in unison with the industry. Readers will be put first through the inclusion of the right value system that will help create affluence in the market in a more positive outlook and a kinder attitude. Long gone are the days when wealth, fame, and power defined the industry. Rhoda Campos-Aldanese shares that “the currency now includes that of love, compassion, and helping the less fortunate.”

Her Message to the Youth 

Furthermore, Rhoda Campos-Aldanese advises the young on becoming a leader. “It’s all been anchored on your passion and why. If you have both, you will stay committed. You will find that physical strength and stamina to bring together the necessary resources so your dream grows into what it needs to become.

For her, each person has a unique purpose and meaning that has been with them from the very beginning. By tapping into one’s inner resources, they can harness the strength and resilience within themselves to overcome whatever challenges they may encounter instead of blaming others for the outward circumstance. In doing so, “we will develop the necessary skills that will help us carry out our unique purpose,” the COO states.

In sustaining MGLI’s mission of providing strong international platforms that will help augment and fill in the gaps in print and digital media, Rhoda Campos-Aldanese says that it is important to get connected and empower the next generation. The world of the youth encompasses emerging trends in alternative fashion, entertainment, music, and pop culture. Together with NYLON Manila and Vogue Philippines, MGLI will spark discussions that talk to the future—the new generation.
