Song Joong-ki Announces Arrival Of Second Child
The Korean actor and his wife Katy Saunders became parents for the second time after the arrival of their daughter
Korean star Song Joong-ki is a father for the second time. The actor confirmed that his wife Katy Saunders has given birth to their daughter in Italy.
In a translation provided by Soompi from his fan cafe account, the Vicenzo star wrote: “I’m currently in Rome and it’s been just over a year since I met my first child here. I’m incredibly grateful to announce that we’ve been blessed with another beautiful baby.”
“Our lovely princess was born healthy, and both my wife and our baby are doing well and resting.”
The arrival of their baby girl comes after his management early this year confirmed the couple were expecting another child. Katy and Joong-ki welcomed a boy last year.
Privacy and away from media spotlight
Since confirming his relationship with Katy, Joong-ki has made effort to shield her and his kids from the spotlight. He requests fans who come up to him for photos to respect the privacy of his family.
Song Joong-ki and Katy’s relationship surfaced in December 2022 when he confirmed that he was dating the former actress.
The actor announced in January 2023 that he was going to be a dad for the first time and that he and Katy got married.
“I have promised to continue life together with Katy Louise Saunders, who has been by my side supporting me and who I have spent valuable time with while cherishing each other,” he said.
Before Katy, Joong-ki was married to Korean actress Soong Hye-kyo from 2017 to 2019.
Joong-ki is working on a new show called My Youth and was seen early this year in the film My Name is Loh Kiwan.
