These Songs from The Juans and SB19 Reflect Courage and Joy
Whether you are far away from your loved ones, celebrating together, or having a melancholic celebration, let these songs from The Juans and SB19 be your constant companion.
The holidays can be happy for most and sad for some. As the world slowly opens after almost three years of being stuck at home, this season is an opportunity to reconnect. But not everyone is privileged to be together. Some are still far from their loved ones due to restrictions and some grieve over the sudden passing of a family member. Others, on the other hand, don’t have the means to be with their families. Many have turned to music to keep them company. Two of today’s popular groups, The Juans and SB19 have been constant people’s playlists. Check out these songs from the two groups and who knows, it may give you that smile and courage this season.
Songs from the Juans and SB19
The Juans’ Di Mo Na Ako Kailangan
The music video for “Di Mo Na Ako Kailangan” was officially released last December 16. The almost 15-minute short film depicts the story of a person’s love who was used when it only mattered the most. Danny left his childhood love Karen to work for their future. And when he returns, he finds out that she is with someone else, leaving him heartbroken.
While the song may be melancholic for a season that is supposed to give joy and happiness, couples, friends, and people, in general, are hurt by the actions of those they love by leaving them out in the cold. But this is also an opportunity for those to grieve their heartaches, slowly move on, and hope for a better day.
Let’s Celebrate Together with The Juans and Jose Mari Chan
The boys are not new to working with big names in the industry. But this year, they had the honor of working with one of OPM’s biggest names in a campaign for Uniqlo – Jose Mari Chan. The group collaborated with the OPM icon for the song “Let’s Celebrate Together” which is being played in all Uniqlo branches.
The song may be short but it’s enough to get you and your families in the holiday spirit as you shop for last-minute gift ideas.
SB19’s Ligaya
Since it was released back in 2021, “Ligaya” has become one of the favorites of the P-Pop’s fandom A’TIN. The lyrics of the song reflect the struggles people go through before the holidays but it also makes them realize the true meaning of happiness in celebrating with the people they love including close friends and family.
And as a bonus, the cute moments of the boys show how playful they are in the music video.
SB19’s Nyebe
“Nyebe” was first written by John Paulo “Pablo” Nase at the height of the pandemic. The song has been performed several times during their WYAT Tour.
On December 12, the group officially released it as a single. A visualizer accompanied the song from footage of their international tour. The song chronicles the struggles and loneliness of people. But as the chorus goes “matutunaw din lahat ng nyebe,” you overcome the struggle and things will get better.
Christmas may be the time to be with family and friends. But it’s not just about spending time with them. It is also the opportunity to give yourself time off from the hustle and bustle of life. Music is one way to help you reflect this season and allow some time for yourself.
