Tennis Star Naomi Osaka is Pregnant!
Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka announced on Instagram that she’s pregnant.
The Japanese professional tennis player posted some exciting news to welcome 2023. In the caption of her Instagram post last January 11, Naomi Osaka revealed that she’s pregnant and wrote, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.”
“The past few years have been interesting, to say the least. But I find that it’s the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun,” she added in the carousel post. “These few months away from the sport have really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to. I realize that life is short and I don’t take any moments for granted.”
“Every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future. One thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom.’ Haha. 2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me. And I hope I’ll see you guys at the start of the next one because I’ll be at the Australian Open 2024. Love you all infinitely.”
She also wrote a side note saying, “I don’t think there’s a perfectly correct patch to take in life. But I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions, you’ll find your way eventually.”
First Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles
Naomi Osaka was formerly ranked world No. 1 in singles by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). She’s also the first Asian player to hold the top ranking in singles. Moreover, she is a four-time Grand Slam singles champion, with two Australian Open and two US Open titles.
WTA Chairman and CEO Steve Simon offered his best wishes to Osaka. “The WTA family congratulates Naomi on this very special news,” he said. “As she now embarks on this exciting next chapter in her life, we celebrate her becoming a mom and look forward to seeing her back on the court when she and the family are ready.”
Naomi Osaka is 25 years old and is expected to give birth this 2023.
