The Pioneer Woman Ree Drummond’s Daughter Alex is Pregnant!

Ree Drummond writes on her blog that her daughter Alex is pregnant and that she’s nervous and excited about being a grandma-to-be!

If you’re a fan of the Food Network, chances are you catch Ree Drummond, known for her show The Pioneer Woman, wherein she cooks and shares her life in Oklahoma. Months from now, Ree and the family is welcoming a new member of the family!

In her blog on Sunday, June 23, Ree announced that her eldest daughter Alex is expecting her first child with her husband Mauricio Scott.

“Yes, it’s true! Alex and Mauricio are expecting – and I don’t mean a puppy, though I wouldn’t put it past them (or me) to treat news of an upcoming new puppy in the exact same way as a pregnancy announcement,” Ree joked, sharing the Instagram post of her daughter and son-in-law.

Ree could not help but reminisce how her daughter has grown up now that she’s going to be a mom.

” My first baby is having her first baby. My child is going to have a child. It’s surreal, and I’m sure all of you grandparents can relate to the feeling of momentarily leaving your body after hearing upon hearing similar news,” she wrote.

As early as now, Ree has many questions about being a grandparent but for now, she’s just savoring the news.

Following her mom’s blog entry, Alex also wrote about the moment she and Mauricio found out about the pregnancy.

“This all started when Mauricio and I had gotten home from a weekend trip to visit his family in Mexico. I had a weird ‘off’ feeling so decided to discreetly take a test right when I got home…and what do you know, it said ‘Pregnant’!” Alex wrote.

Mauricio she said was initially shocked after she showed the results. To be sure, Alex wrote that they conducted a few more tests.

“We took a few days on our own to process, celebrate, and let the reality set in that we are going to be parents (of a real human, not just a dog…haha!). How crazy is that?! It took a while for us to wrap our brains around it, but we are so excited.”

They later broke the news to their respective families. Alex shared that her sister Paige was one of the first to find out about the pregnancy and gave her a gift with the message ” Welcome to your Auntie Era!”

Alex also gave her mom a gift as it was Mother’s Day when they announced it.

“Since it was the week before Mother’s Day, I gave my mom an “early Mother’s Day gift” that had a onesie and a custom card that read “The only thing better than having you as my mom, is our baby having you as a grandma!” It was all so cute! My parents’ reactions were priceless, I think they were truly shocked! I think they had to mentally adjust to the idea of officially being GRANDPARENTS.”

Alex shared that Mauricio’s mom has been informed. “It was so sweet, and so special for Mauricio. First grandchild on both sides, I have a feeling this baby will be very loved!”

Currently Resting

In the last part of her post, Alex wrote that she and Mauricio had done their first check-up with the doctor.

“I’m going to try to take it all in and enjoy this time. Being able to share it not only with my family and close friends, but also our wider friend group and of course social media, has been so much fun. Thank you all for your love and support!”

Alex and Mauricio are set to welcome the baby on New Year’s Day.
