WATCH: Wonka (2023) Movie Drops An Official Trailer!

Every family’s favorite chocolate maker now gets an origin story in the new and upcoming WONKA movie!

Many of us grew up watching Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Wonka played by the late Gene Wilder in the 1970s and by Johnny Depp in 2005. But instead of a retelling of the classic Roald Dahl book, Wonka this coming 2023 offers a possible origin story of how the quirky but brilliant chocolatier Willy Wonka came to be. Played by the Little Women’s and Dune’s Timothée Chalamet, the beloved family classic has just dropped a trailer of its new movie, revealing a star-studded cast as well.

A whimsical tale of chocolate and dreams

Many of us probably dreamed of finding the fabled Golden Ticket and venturing through the whimsical Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory. But that dream becomes a reality as we see both the challenges and victories of Willy Wonka. While he competes against the more established patissiers and chocolatiers, Willy deals with the many creative blocks that the frustrated bakers in us deal with. The movie appears to have a star-studded cast as it has famed comedians Rowan Atkinson, Keegan-Michael Key, and Bridget Jones’ Diary’s Hugh Grant.

It’ll be a nostalgic watch for the whole family!

When is Wonka coming out?

A musical movie like many of Roald Dahl’s movie-adapted books, Wonka will be a whimsical watch this coming Christmas as Warner Bros. announced its tentative debut on December 15, 2023. Especially since the holidays are all about sweet tidings and family, Wonka is definitely the family’s golden ticket. Besides, it’ll be interesting to see how Timothée Chalamet portrays the young, daydreaming, and innovative chocolatier.
