Chris Pratt and Jack Black Star in New Super Mario Bros Movie

Chris Pratt, Jack Black, Anya Taylor-Joy — it’s a star-studded cast for the movie adaptation of one of the most nostalgic Nintendo games: Super Mario Bros.

A lot of us who grew up with the Nintendo Family Computer may have never expected that everyone’s favorite plumber will star in his own movie. Coming out in April 2023, Super Mario Bros will grace the silver screen with a star-studded cast. The voice actors of the Super Mario Bros movie include Chris Pratt and Charlie Day playing the titular characters: Mario and Luigi. Meanwhile, Jack Black will be voicing the villain, Bowser, King of the Koopas.

Super Mario Bros: From Games to Films

Super Mario Bros played a big role in our family’s lives. From mind-boggling puzzles to a variety of party games, it has made a big impact on almost every console developed by Nintendo. It’s also probably why our kids insisted on buying a Nintendo Switch. Besides being able to play the latest Pokémon games, Super Mario was one game that stood the test of time. And based on the trailer, the movie does look promising.

April 2023 may be a long way from now but that’s not going to stop our kids from making sure they have time to watch the movie. It might even fall on summer break, giving the kids a chance to watch it right away. But while they’re waiting for the movie, they can play the varying Super Mario Bros games on their consoles or phones. Some might even use the Super Mario Party games to celebrate their birthdays!
