“There’s No Turning Back”: Wicked For Good Trailer Released
Wicked for Good is set for release in November
The story of Glinda and Elphaba continues. Universal Pictures dropped the official trailer of Wicked for Good on Thursday, June 5, Manila time. The film is the second part of the Wicked movie, first shown last November.
Here’s what we’ve seen in the trailer.
Glinda and Elphaba meet again
After Elphaba flies off from the previous film, Glinda (Ariana Grande) senses her friend outside of her home and sees her shadow in the night. Glinda says she knew Elphaba was around, telling her to come in before the monkey sees her.
Although they parted differently, Glinda still cares for her friend despite the chaos from the last film’s turn of events.

Elphaba’s fight to clear her name
Saying, “There’s no turning back…this is between the wizard and I,” Elphaba knows that she’s up against the battle of her life as she faces the Wizard (Jeff Goldblum) after being declared a threat in Oz.
More than the Wizard and Madame Morrible’s (Michelle Yeoh) determination to capture her, Elphaba also faces the reality that Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) is hunting her down. In one scene, they see each other, and when Elphaba questions him about how he has changed, he says he has, showing that there is still that attraction after all this time.

Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Lion’s Appearance Before the Wizard
As Wicked is set before the Wizard of Oz, it was only a matter of time before the familiar characters – Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, and the Lion appeared. They were seen before the Wizard, with him telling the group to bring the witch’s broom, referring to Elphaba.
More than the scenes, fans of the show are also in for a treat as director Jon Chu confirmed there will be two new songs introduced in the film with Stephan Schwartz on board.
“They’re great additions to this movie. They were necessary in this movie to help tell the story,” Chu told Vanity Fair.

The Wait is Almost Over
With Wicked for Good set for release in November, fans will have to wait for a while. The movie is more than just about good versus evil. It’s about choosing paths, clearing oneself of false accusations, and above all, the courage to be who he or she is in a world that criticizes you for being different.
There are other surprises for the fans in the coming months, but everyone agrees that this November, they will all fly high.
