The Best and Family-Friendly Hotpot Restaurants in Metro Manila

Here are some of the most family-friendly hotpot restaurants in Manila.

When everyone has a diet restriction and eats a lot, Manila’s hotpot restaurants are the place to go! Besides having a wide variety of ingredients, there’s also the fun of cooking them in a big pot of soup. For each time we introduce a new ingredient to the broth, the soup tastes better. But not all of Manila’s hotpot restaurants offer the same goodness. Here are some of our recommended ones to bring the family around!

1. Jiang Nan Hotpot

Jiang Nan prides itself on having a wide array of ingredients but also various broths to spice up the experience. For those who are starting out, try their basic, clear broth which they add some Chinese herbs to make it more flavorful. But if you have an adventurous family, we suggest the Yuan Yang hotpot which splits the pot into two broths: one clear and one spicy!

They currently have two branches: one along Nicanor Garcia, Makati (right across SM Jazz) and the other in Banawe, Quezon City.

2. Siam Square Mookata

One of the few Thai-based hotpots, Siam Mookata offers both grill and hotpot which adds variety for those who feel like they’ve taken in so much soup. Their signature fish-sauce-based sauce helps break down the oiliness from the meat in comparison to the usual Chinese hotpot sauces which explode with flavor.

They have two branches in Makati: one in Linear Makati and the other one along Washington street.

3. Tong Yang

A classic favorite among families in Manila and recently acquired by the Vikings Restaurant group, this hotpot also branched out into three different restaurants: Tong Yang, Meat Together, and Tong Yang Plus. Tong Yang is where families really get their bang for their buck when they have a lot of big eaters. They serve vegetables, meat, and fish along with some of the typical hotpot ingredients like fish cake, fish balls, and the like!

They have multiple branches but the best ones so far are the ones in Centris near the rotonda, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, SM Mall of Asia, and Promenade, San Juan.

4. Four Seasons Hotpot

Four Seasons Hotpot is also a favorite in SM Aura’s food court. But their original restaurant runs along Manila Bay where they promote their “farm-to-table” philosophy by getting their fish straight from the bay. If dampa gets a bit too pricy and the family has big eaters, at least in Four Seasons Hotpot, they can make the most out of it!

They have two branches: SM by the Bay and Araneta Cubao. But they also have express ones in some SM food courts like the one in SM Aura.

5. Songchu Pot Shabu-Shabu

One of the top-rated hotpot restaurants on Google Reviews, Songchu Pot Shabu Shabu stands out because it’s Korean. Since most of the hotpot restaurants in Manila are Chinese, Songchu Pot may offer a breath of fresh air with their Korean sauces and spices like their spicy bean sauce and gojuchang.

Enjoy eating healthy with the family in Manila’s best hotpot restaurants!

Eating healthy never rang well with most Filipinos as it meant depriving them of all the lechon, chicharon, fried chicken, and chicharong bulaklak they could eat. But hotpot entices families to eat healthy with the different colorful ingredients; even kids can’t say no when they find cheese-filled squid balls and fish balls in the soup. The best part is, these restaurants never leave you feeling guilty after a hearty meal. It also serves as a money-saving hack when half the family can eat out an entire buffet.
