The song “Stop” is part of the girl group’s second album Spice World.
It’s been 25 years since the Spice Girls released their second album Spice World. On March 9, the group announced they have released an alternative video of their song “Stop” which is part of the album.
“To celebrate the 25th anniversary of ‘Stop’ we’re excited to share an alternative video from our original shoot 25 years ago!” the girls announced.
The video showed them in the street doing the famous “Stop” choreography.
The alternative video brought back some nostalgic moments for many of the Spice Girls fans including the girls themselves. On Instagram stories, Melanie Chisholm, known as Sporty Spice, encouraged her followers to check out the video.
Emma Bunton, Geri Halliwell, and Melanie B also took to Instagram stories to encourage their followers to check out the alternative video.
Girl Power continues
First skyrocketing in the late 90s, the Spice Girls have remained an icon of girl power. They first released the album Spice in 1996 which include hit songs like “Wannabe,” “Say You’ll Be There,” and “Mama.”
In 1998, their second album Spiceworld was released and produced hits such as “Stop,” “Spice Up Your Life,” and “Too Much.”
In 2000, they released their third album Forever which produced the songs, “Holler” and “Goodbye.”
The Spice Girls, who are now moms themselves, have done several reunion performances including the 2012 London Olympics and the Spice World Tour in 2019.
