Sunshine Dizon Mourns Her Dad: “I Will Always Be A Papa’s Girl.”
It hits differently for a papa’s girl like Sunshine Dizon after her dad passed away.
For the many who are daddy’s girls, the praise, rejection, acceptance, and loss hit differently when it comes from dad. It’s a different — as Sunshine puts it — “pain and longing” that can be both confusing and heartbreaking. Sunshine Dizon recently posted on her Instagram a photo of her and her dad with the caption: “I love you, Papa. I never knew this kind of pain and longing. I will always be a Papa’s girl.”
Isagani Dizon: An active dad and lolo
It’s heartwarming how involved Sunshine Dizon’s dad is with her and her children. He’s often game for the many photos that Sunshine and her family take. Even spending a weekend together with them.
They also celebrated his birthday four months ago. And from the photo collage, he’s more than happy to join in on the fun. Sunshine writes to her dad, “Happy birthday Papa ❤️ Wish i was there to give you a tight hug and warm kisses. I only pray that your health will improve so that we can still have more time together and spend time with your two beautiful grandchildren. I love you is not enough. Thank you for being my Papa ♥️ I miss you papa.”
Losing a dad, especially when he’s a good male role model, hurts a lot more than it looks.
Losing a dad as a papa’s girl leaves a void no one can replace
Dads become the template for their daughters on how men should treat them. From having daddy-daughter dates to the way he speaks to her, they become the golden standard. They were boys themselves once. Especially if they were once the bad boys, they’d know all the tricks of the trade.
Our condolences for the loss of your dad, Sunshine.
