The Sistine Chapel Exhibit in Estancia Transports Families to Italy
One of Michaelangelo’s famous works, the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel from the Vatican City, is on exhibit from July to September at Estancia Mall.
Let’s face it. Not everyone can afford to go to Italy. Thanks to ATIN Global Inc. and SEE Global Entertainment Inc, Filipinos will be transported to Italy, specifically the Vatican City, as they brought in the replicas of the Sistine Chapel frescoes, featuring Michaelangelo’s paintings. Michaelangelo is considered one of the world’s most famous artists of his time. And Filipino families can finally see his works without breaking their budgets. The Sistine Chapel Exhibit frescoes feature stories from the Bible. So this is an opportunity for parents to show them to their children, as it will give them a more historical visual aspect. The 34 frescoes will surely give families a multi-sensory experience as they look at the artworks.
From the 34 frescoes, some of the stories include:
The Creation of Adam
Perhaps one of the most famous paintings on display in the Sistine Chapel! The Creation of Adam shows God reaching out to Adam, who became the first man as narrated in the Bible.
David and Goliath
Who does not know the famous story of the shepherd boy David who went up against Goliath? Michaelangelo depicts David slaying the giant Goliath with a sword after hurting him with a slingshot.
The Great Flood
Noah was warned by God of the Great Flood who asked him to make an arc. Here, his family and pairs of animals took shelter for 40 days and 40 nights. Despite being ridiculed by people, Noah did what was instructed of him. And later on, as people tried to save themselves from the flood, Noah, his family, and the pairs of animals were safe inside the arc.
The Prophets and Jesus’ descendants
The exhibit also features paintings of prophets as seen by Michaelangelo as well as some of Jesus’ descendants. Some of the prophets include Elijah, Jonah, and Isaiah. Female prophets also known as sibyls are shown, too.
The Last Judgement
Another fresco painting, The Last Judgement is also included in the exhibit. The mounting is considered one of the biggest to put up. It also has a display hanging within the Estancia Mall.
A Visual Bible for the Family
If you are looking for something educational for your family or just want to go to an art exhibit, then the Sistine Chapel Exhibit is a must. It’s learning the Bible but in visual art. Art students will also be inspired as they get to see the frescoes and understand Michaelangelo’s paintings.
