Drake’s 6-Year-Old Son Adonis Just Dropped A Song! How Cool is That?
Rapper, singer, and celebrity dad Drake is probably beaming with pride as his son follows in his footsteps!
Music is a universal language. Everyone, even adults, still learns via music. But the ability to create music is an entirely different story and 6-year-old Adonis clearly inherited his dad’s affinity to do it! We’ve heard of kids doing amazing things with the right support. From representing a country in an international tournament to publishing books, now we can add debuting as a singer on the list with Drake’s son, Adonis, releasing his new song: “My Man Freestyle.” You can check out the video below:
This isn’t his first time showing up as a singer!
Adonis did join his dad in some of his other music videos. Drake and Adonis sang together in the rapper’s song “8AM in Charlotte,” appearing together in the video. The same goes for Adonis’ song; Drake does make a momentary appearance towards the end!
We are no strangers to stories of kids mimicking their parents’ behaviors. But it’s sometimes shocking when the kids can do it just as well or possibly better than their parents. However, that’s more of a reason to celebrate than see it as competition. It shows that as parents, we’re more than just the ones who raise them. We’re also skilled masters and teachers of a particular craft. It doesn’t always have to be something art-related; even something executive like Chess or math is praiseworthy.
Go for it, Adonis!
Drake eventually opened up about his son in his 2021 Album Certified Lover Boy where he talks about how he wanted to “hide the world from his son.” He wanted to keep Adonis’ life private, even revealing on a radio show with fellow rapper Lil’ Wayne. “I don’t want to feel like just because of a life choice I made to be a ‘celebrity’ that I got to make everybody live under this blanket. I just wanted to free myself of that.”
However, the little boy seems to be following in his footsteps anyway, publishing his first song. But he’s not the only kid who’s published music. The Guinness Book of World Records recognizes child artists with 2-year-old Murakata Nonoka releasing an album of her own.
Adonis Graham is the son of Drake with French artist, Sophie Brussaux.
