On July 27, Marvel Studios took part at the San Diego Comic Con, wherein they revealed many details about their upcoming films
Another San Diego Comic Con went by last July 27 and Marvel Studios got everyone hyped with its numerous announcements. From the announcement of Dr. Doom to new Avenger films, here are just some of the details revealed for its next line of projects families will be anticipating.
Deadpool and Wolverine promotions
Before the revelation, Marvel continued its promotions for Wolverine and Deadpool which opened in cinemas before the Comic Con. A choir even sang to Madonna’s “Like A Prayer.”
Harrison Ford’s role in Captain America: Brave New World
One of the first announcements was the upcoming Captain America: Brave New World. Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson/Falcon takes on the role after Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passes it on. Harrison Ford co-stars with Mackie in the film and we’ll see his role as Thaddeus Ross turn into the Red Hulk.
The Thunderbolts cast makes it debut at Comic Con
The cast of Thunderbolts led by Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Florence Pugh, and Sebastian Stan dropped by to answer questions on what to expect from the upcoming film set for release next year. The film revolves around a group of anti-heroes summoned by the US government on a special mission.
The Fantastic Four Is Back!
Marvel is giving a reboot of the Fantastic Four. Considered Marvel’s first family in the comics, Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm will be brought to life by Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
The Fantastic Four: First Steps and will have a 60’s vibe according to the announcement. It’s tentative release date is in 2025.
Two new Avenger films and RDJ’s return
The return of the Russo brothers sent everyone abuzz when they announced they’ll be helming two new films – Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.
More than the two new Avengers, a familiar actor got everyone screaming. From Tony Stark/Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr, takes on the role of Dr. Doom, one of Marvel’s formidable enemies.
“New mask, same task,” the Academy Award winner said. “What did I tell ya? I like playing complicated characters.”
Marvel Studios has a strong lineup!
The announcements made by MCU indicate what’s next for phases five and six. We have to wait until next year what will happen but it sure did boost the hopes of many that Marvel will get more people to watch films again.
