Meet The Moms Competing In Miss Universe 2024

This year’s edition in Mexico includes 13 moms who will vie for the title to succeed Sheynnis Palacios

It’s pageant season again, and Miss Universe is set to crown its new queen on Sunday, November 17, Manila time in Mexico. The Philippines is fielding Chelsea Manalo, hoping to get the country’s fifth crown.

Since its announcement that they’ll be allowing moms in the competition, Miss Universe has seen candidates from countries that have sent moms and transgender women to the competition. This year, a total of 13 candidates are parents. Let’s get to know them.

Davin Prasath, Cambodia

Davin is a mother of a daughter. She is also the first mom from Asia to compete in the competition. She previously competed in another contest, Universal Woman. Her advocacy work includes as ambassador for the Helen Keller International-Cambodia and Smile Train Cambodia.

Logina Salah, Egypt

Logina is a mom of a daughter and has 1.8 million following on Instagram. She is a trained make-up artist and a blogger and has been opened about embracing vitiligo, which she used to cover up until she finally embraced it.

Elena Hidalgo, Costa Rica

Elena is a mom of a 6-year old daughter. She works as a model before she won the title of Miss Universe Costa Rica.

Ileana Marquez Pedroza, Venezuela

No country next to the US has a better track record in Miss Universe than Venezuela. Ileana is the first representative from her country who will be competing a mother.

Ileana is a proud mom as she has shared some photos with her daughter Guadalupe on social media.

Jennifer Colon, Puerto Rico

Jennifer Colon previously competed as a representative of Puerto Rico in Miss World in 2009. She won the title of Miss Universe Puerto Rico this year and is a mother of three kids and works as an medical grade esthetician and iridologist. She is also involved in her own organization called Beautifully Human.

Luana Cavalcante, Brazil

Luana is the first Brazilian woman to compete as a mom from her country. She works as a model before competing in the pageant.

Stephanie Cam, Honduras

Stephanie is a model signed with One Management in New York. She is also the first mother from her country to compete in the pageant.

Faith Landman, Netherlands

Faith is a mother of a son and works as a photographer. Her subjects include women and kids. In her website, she wrote: ” I wanted to be busy with photography every day and this has inspired me to start my own business and I can’t wait to use my knowledge and skills to capture your beautiful memories and really tell a story.”

Emilia Dobreva, United Arab Emirates

Emilia makes history as the first candidate representing UAE in the pageant. Born in Kosovo, Emilia is a mother of three kids, works as a model, and loves to travel. She even attended several red carpets including Cannes Film Festival.

Emma Avanesyan, Armenia

According to her profile, Emma is 32 years old and runs a modeling agency. She has a daughter named Monica. She became her country’s representative after the original winner was unable to compete due to a passport issue.

Aniqa Maisha Alam, Bangladesh

Aside from being a mother, Aniqa is an advocate for women’s rights and works as a make-up artist.

Beatrice Njoya, Malta

According to her bio, Beatrice is 40 years old and is a mother of 3. She works as a Senior Player Risk Specialist and is an advocate of fighting domestic violence after she was a victim of it.

Loredana Salanță, Romania

Loredana first represented Romania in Miss World and Top Model of the Year. Aside from being a mother, she is a journalist, model, and activist.
