Spider-Man: Beyond The Spiderverse Swings In June 2027

Revealed during CinemaCon, the animated movie — Spider-Man: Beyond The Spiderverse — was confirmed for 2027

Ever wonder where the kids learned the word canon event? It’s from one of our friendly neighborhood Spider-Mans, Miles Morales! And it looks like, he’s returning with the final installment of the Spiderverse trilogy — Spider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse, with producer Phil Lord confirming during CinemaCon that it’s scheduled to debut on June 4, 2024. As a beloved film series, the producer teased in an interview with Variety that it was something that’s meant for the “biggest of screens” and a “massive production.”

“We know how important the series is to so many people,” Lord admits. “We just could not run it back. So, we decided to take time to make sure we got it just right!”

So for Spidey-fans and families out there, time to keep an eye out for seats in the cinemas for June 2027! Release dates may vary between the United States and the Philippines.

Our kids’ Spiderman

As parents, we will always remember three familiar faces who brought Spider-Man to life: Toby McGuire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland. The three even came together for a Spiderman movie to tackle the ever-confusing multi-verse with Tom Holland (as Peter Parker) making the painful decision to wipe his existence from everyone’s memory.

But today’s kids will see Miles Morales as their Spider-Man. Coming from a universe where Peter Parker died, Miles was bitten by the radioactive spider, making him Spider-Man with also the unique ability to turn invisible and use electricity as a weapon. But based on where the most recent movie left off, this Spider-Man (Miles Morales) aims to change an event that’s “canon” or crucial to every Spider-Man: the loss of a father figure. In doing so, he ends up in a universe where he, Miles, adopts the persona of the villainous Prowler.

As to who will be lending their voices to the finale of the trilogy, Lord hasn’t announced any line-up. However, in the prequels to the finale, Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Peter B. Parker were voiced by Shameik Moises, Hailee Steinfeld, and Jake Johnson.

Spider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse: a “tear-jerking” finale to close the series

Phil Lord also teases during CinemaCon that Spider-Man: Beyond the Spiderverse aims to make sure that there’s “not a single dry eye that leaves house.”

That tells us one thing: someone’s not going to make it out of the story alive. Will Miles end up losing his father? Or will he lose the friends and identity he’s made along the way? Unfortunately, with no official trailer, we have no clue on how this movie plans to make us and the kids cry. What we do know however is, in a teased footage during CinemaCon, Miles Morales was heard saying, “Everyone keeps telling me how my story is how to go.”

While we’re waiting, another member of the Spiderverse, Spider-Man (reprised by Tom Holland) is swinging in with the fourth installment of his Spiderverse — Spider-Man: Brand New Day this coming 2026.
