Robi Domingo and Maiqui Pineda Share First Glimpse of Their Child

Robi Domingo and his wife Maiqui Pineda have officially entered a new chapter: parenthood.

On June 1, Robi shared a short reel on Instagram introducing their newborn to the world.

“Hi guys, welcome to the outside world,” he says in the video, while Maiqui cradles their baby.

Friends and fellow celebrities quickly filled the comments with messages of love and congratulations. Gary Valenciano wrote, “God with us,” while Darren Espanto commented, “Our little Groguuu,” referencing the beloved The Mandalorian character.

Robi’s Pinoy Big Brother co-hosts, including Kim Chiu, Luis Manzano, Bianca Gonzalez, and Gabbi Garcia, also shared their congratulations for the growing family.

Robi’s conversation with Gary Valenciano

While Robi and Maiqui have yet to publicly share details about their baby, Robi recently revealed the inspiration behind his kid’s name during a conversation with Gary Valenciano.

In the interview, which premiered on YouTube on June 1, Robi recalled a meaningful moment during Simbang Gabi in 2025.

“We found out the gender when we were doing Simbang Gabi. The following day, that morning, we went to Mass. The gospel was about the Nativity,” he shared. “And there was a part that said, ‘And you shall name Emmanuel.’”

Robi said the name continued to appear in the days that followed, which he and Maiqui took as a sign.

The couple eventually chose the name Robert Emmanuel for their first child, with the nickname Gary—a detail that delighted Valenciano.

Preparing for Parenthood

Robi and Maiqui announced they were expecting last January and have since openly shared glimpses of their journey to parenthood with followers.

Over the past several months, the couple posted sonogram updates, baby shopping moments, and photos from their maternity shoot.

For Mother’s Day this year, Robi also shared a heartfelt message for Maiqui on Instagram.

“This day feels extra special because we finally get to celebrate you. Our baby is already so lucky to have you—and to call you Mommy,” he wrote.

“Maiqs, this is it. This is what we both wished for… and it’s happening soon. Happy Mother’s Day. We love you.”

Just before announcing their baby’s arrival, Robi also posted photos documenting their final days of waiting, including moments from the hospital. One of Robi’s close friends, Donny Pangilinan, was even there to support the couple.
