Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes Play Estranged Couple in ‘Remember’

The real-life power couple is set to touch hearts once again as they reunite on the big screen for a poignant story on family, love, and core memories

The full trailer for the much-awaited reunion movie of real-life husband and wife Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes dropped on Sunday, October 18, giving fans a glimpse of their emotional new project.

Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar and set against the scenic backdrop of Canada, Remember follows the heartbreaking journey of a mother (Marian) whose young daughter, Ella (played by Zia Grace), is diagnosed with a deteriorating memory loss condition. As her estranged husband (Dingdong) returns to help navigate their daughter’s condition, the two attempt to help Ella recall her fondest memories—only to find themselves slowly remembering the love and promises they once made to each other.

Remember marks the couple’s big-screen follow-up to their massive 2023 blockbuster hit, Rewind.

A movie worth the wait

Back in June, the DongYan couple shared that they patiently waited for the right script before deciding to work together again. Between juggling individual show business commitments and raising their two kids, Zia and Sixto, finding the right story was essential.

What makes Remember even more special for the couple is reuniting with the creative team behind Rewind.

“It feels good to work with the same team behind Rewind. Naaalala namin, nare-reminisce namin all the good memories. We’re just so excited to work on this new project,” Dingdong shared prior to departing for Canada back in June.

Marian echoed her husband’s excitement, noting that the timing felt perfectly aligned for another movie collaboration.

“Sabi ko, ito na siguro ’yung tamang panahon para gawin uli [ang isang project]. At the same time, ’yung kuwento, siguradong mai-in love sila sa kuwentong Remember,” she said.

Marian also revealed that reading the script for the first time immediately won them over. “Na-e-excite ako doon sa kuwentong ibibigay sa kanila,” she shared, referring to the audience. “Dahil nung una naming mabasa ’yung script, napa-wow kami. Ito ’yung hinihintay namin. Perfect na perfect ’yung kuwento para sa aming dalawa.”

Remember premieres in cinemas nationwide on November 11.
