Angelica Panganiban Tests Positive for COVID

New mom Angelica Panganiban deals with the frustration of being isolated due to being positive for COVID-19.

New moms never want to be separated from their families — let alone their babies. Unfortunately, new celebrity mom Angelica Panganiban is forced to deal with this because she tested positive for COVID-19. Although she gets to talk to both her fianceé Gregg Homan and her daughter Amila Sabine digitally, there will still be that longing for physical contact. She posted recently on her Instagram, “Nauubusan na ko ng positive thoughts 💭 pls send help. I miss you family @gregg_homan

How Being With the Fam Makes It Easier to Produce Positive Thoughts

Many of those who got infected with the milder version of COVID-19 often say, “If it’s not the symptoms then, it’s going insane from being isolated for so long that will.”

While some people thrive in isolation, a new mom like Angelica Panganiban may find it difficult to do so. When moms cuddle with their babies or their families, the body produces oxytocin. We also call it the “cuddle hormone,” which makes us extra happy. Unfortunately, people need direct physical contact with another body to produce it and when infected with COVID-19, especially with a newborn baby in the house, that’s definitely not an option.

A Not-Fun Choice That a Mom Can Easily Make

Being away from our babies is difficult but when infected with COVID-19, that’s a choice that is — although not fun — easily made. It’ll hurt more seeing our babies struggling from getting infected. We understand the struggle, Angelica. But we also know it’s for Amila’s sake. Time may seem slow for now but things will get better and you’ll get to spend time with Amila again.
