Every Parent Goes CUCU Over This Couch
Meet the couch every parent’s enjoying: the CUCU Couch!
Enter the CUCU Couch: a modular play sofa designed for families who want intentional playtime without needing an extra room, a playhouse, or a Pinterest-sized home.
Today’s parents are literally not given much space to work with in transforming their homes. Living rooms double as play areas. Dining corners turn into study zones, and somehow, parents still need to clean up and create a space where kids use their imaginations instead of their devices.
Unfortunately, that’s highly idealistic—unless the furniture works as hard as the family does. Which, thankfully, this couch does.

What Makes the CUCU Couch Different
The CUCU Couch is so family-friendly that we love how it doesn’t interrupt the aesthetic while encouraging their kids to do some imaginative play.
Lightweight enough for kids to move on their own, yet structured enough to function as an actual couch, it shifts easily from reading nook to fort to nap spot—without looking like oversized toy furniture.
It’s plush enough for downtime, supportive enough for sitting, and sturdy enough to survive daily rearranging.

One Couch, Many Childhood Moments
CUCU was founded by siblings Lexi and Matteo, together with their spouses Rafa and Nicole, inspired by a modular sofa from their childhood—a single piece of furniture that became their stage, fort, crash pad, and gathering place. Once they became parents themselves, they set out to create one central piece that would adapt to family life instead of adding to the clutter.
The result was a piece of furniture that supports imagination, connection, and rest—without demanding more space than most Filipino homes can spare.
While the couch’s name came from their childhood home on Cucumber Street, it delighted them to know that it also had another meaning.
“Upon researching further, we found that CUCU actually also means ‘grandchildren’ in Indo & Malay origins—which is a close cousin of our own mother tongue,” Matteo explained.
“We loved that it meant ‘grandchildren,’ because it’s like an homage to our mother,” revealed Lexi. “We developed Cucu for our children, the grandchildren of the matriarch of the Cucumber house.”

Parent-Approved, Mess-Ready Design
The CUCU Couch isn’t just cute. It’s built for everyday family reality.
It features OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100-certified fabric covers, which are safe for everyday skin contact. The best part is, these covers are also machine washable. Just make sure to wash them in cold water before tumbling and drying on a low setting separately. No need to dry clean, bleach, or iron. It also responds well to spot cleaning.
Inside is 25D high-density foam that holds its shape, no matter how many times it’s been lounged in, jumped on, and reconfigured. Just don’t soak it. If ever it does get wet, air-dry it completely so it doesn’t get mold on the inside.
Its water-resistant inner lining helps protect against spills and accidents, while YKK zippers are designed for long-term use and frequent washing. But in case the kids decide to manhandle the couch with pizza hands or whatever food they have hiding in their fingernails, a damp cloth with a small amount of mild detergent works. Oil-based stains just need a bit of baking soda, then vacuum before spot cleaning.
In short: it’s designed for kids, but engineered for parents.

Blends Into Your Home, Not Fights It
Available in six different designs, the CUCU Couch fits modern Filipino interiors—whether minimalist, playful, or somewhere in between.
The fun part? It doesn’t scream “playroom furniture. It seamlessly fits into the home, making it easier for parents to style without irritating themselves over interrupting their home aesthetic.
A Couch That Grows With the Family
At its core, the CUCU Couch isn’t about filling space. It’s about creating it.
A place where kids can build, rest, imagine, and slow down. A spot where parents can sit beside them, test the comfort (and yes, parents do), and share quiet moments that don’t require a charger.
Because sometimes, all a family needs is one good piece of furniture to make room for better memories.
