David Jacob: Building a Life That Lasts

Through health optimization, cold plunges, clean eating, and the endless pursuit of balance, David is showing up—for himself, his family, and his future

A man of many passions and pursuits, it’s easy to wonder: how does David Jacob do it all? As a CEO, DJ, artist, vinyl collector, husband, father, and business owner—the list is long, and the schedule? Even longer.

At the heart of this busy, packed life he has built for himself is a quiet, steady pursuit of balance. “Before getting into the wellness and longevity space, I’ve always viewed myself as somebody that values balance in life,” David shares. “Being able to juggle multiple hats is something I’ve always been used to. I like to have this ability to tap into certain passions—whether work or personal life—and integrating them properly helps me get the most out of life.”

Health span over lifespan

In a culture obsessed with quick fixes, David has chosen a different path: one that honors the body’s natural rhythms and embraces the compound power of good daily habits over time.

“We’re living in a health revolution,” he says. “We’re all going to live much longer because of the advances in medicine and technology. But what about the quality of that extended life?”

That question sparked a shift, and David began to prioritize health span—the years of life spent feeling energetic, capable, and strong. “It’s trying to understand yourself, your body, your limits, and what you can do to actually regenerate so that as you get older, you actually have the functionality of somebody that’s biologically much younger,” he shares.

From burnout to breakthrough

In his 20s through 40s, David thrived on a “work-hard, play-hard” philosophy. He was extremely fit, worked out regularly, and felt invincible—until he didn’t.

“I turned 50 in 2018, and I felt like I was in the best shape of my life. I was doing CrossFit, all of these extreme things. But I felt sluggish inside—low energy, constantly getting sick. Then the pandemic hit, and I developed insomnia, anxiety, and debilitating migraines.”

After one particularly painful episode that almost derailed a family beach trip, David knew he had to change. “Enough was enough,” he says. “And I just went deep into the rabbit hole of figuring out how I could fix myself because I did not feel good at all.”

One powerful solution was a tool already familiar to him: cold plunges. As an athlete, David had already been harnessing its powerful effects for recovery in between his hard workouts, but he decided to do cold immersion therapy regularly and religiously. Two and a half years later, he’s migraine-free, enjoying energy like never before, and doesn’t even need coffee to get going.

Simple practices with big impact

While biohacking may seem intimidating, futuristic even, David stresses that there are many powerful practices that are actually quite simple—and importantly, are accessible to all.

His daily foundation for energy and optimization starts with grounding with Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) mat. “I lie on this for 12 minutes and what it does is that it mimics the earth’s magnetic field, helping release oxidative stress from cells,” he explains. This is followed by exercise with oxygen therapy (EWOT), where he gets on a bike or treadmill for 15 minutes, breathing pure oxygen. “Working out in Zone 2 cardio with 900-liters of pure oxygen allows for your cells to expand, regenerate—while boosting endurance,” he says. Then, he finishes with red light therapy—accessing the benefits of sunlight without harmful UV damage. “Near and far infrared light penetrates the skin to ‘charge’ cells,” he says.

While it sounds daunting, he explains that this protocol can be simple—with everyone having the ability to customize this. Even stepping outside barefoot, breathing deeply, and soaking up sunlight, taps into these three free health essentials: magnetism, oxygen, and light.

The deeper why: family

For David, the drive to optimize his health isn’t rooted in vanity or performance—it’s deeply personal. “I want to be there for my family,” he says plainly. “When they’re growing, when my kids have their own kids—I want to be there.”

Through health optimization, David is building a future of mental sharpness and physical vitality—not just for himself, but to also model a great example to his children. “My wife got me into eating plant-based in the first place,” David smiles. “I used to be a meat eater—but I became vegetarian when I turned 50. She’s taught me a lot about food, the oils we eat, what really fuels our bodies.” And while she playfully teases him about his long wellness routines, David’s passion is starting to rub off. “She now has her own PEMF mat and even hangs out with me in the sauna before bed sometimes,” he adds.

Today, wellness is a family affair. From red light sessions to cold plunges, his kids have begun absorbing the habits they see him and Amanda model every day.

Getting started on biohacking

For parents curious about health optimization, especially those who often put their own well-being last, David offers reassurance: it doesn’t have to be expensive, extreme, or overwhelming. “Don’t resign yourself to the idea that this is just how you’re supposed to feel as you get older,” he says. “You can actually feel amazing with age, but it takes a little discipline.” The key, he shares, is to focus on simple, foundational practices that have lasting impact.

He’s also a big believer in the free modalities of health—what he calls magnetism, oxygen, and light. “If you can take off shoes, walk in the park barefoot, do breathwork, and get some sun—great! You can do that for free,” he says.

Ultimately, he reminds, health is a choice: “You can absolutely feel better as you age—but only if you choose to show up for it.”

Dancing through life

Beyond work, wellness, and family, David’s lifelong passion is music—and it’s a vital part of his well being, too. “Music is my passion,” he says. “It’s been with me since I was 12, collecting records and DJing—and it’ll stay with me until I die.” Spinning tracks isn’t just a hobby, but a creative release, emotional connection, and energy reset. “People joke I’m a CEO by day, DJ by night—and I love that,” he laughs. “Of course, I take my job seriously, but these other parts of me—the passions—they define who I am.”

He encourages everyone he works with to find their own creative outlet. “I tell every new joiner in the company—make sure you have a passion and make space for it,” he shares. “If not, you’ll burn out.”

Longevity is for everyone

Looking ahead, David is turning his personal health revolution outward with Longevity Labs—the Philippines’ first social wellness space that fuses biohacking, health optimization, and cutting-edge therapies. Launching in September, it will feature a massive sauna, cold plunges, oxygen therapy, and a healthy cafe—all grounded in making wellness accessible to everyone.

“This isn’t just for one demographic,” he says. “Health optimization is for everybody. We’re making it into a true ‘third space’—where people of all ages can gather, recharge, and connect.”
