Derek Ramsay Remains Focused on Family After Ellen Adarna’s Miscarriage
During the press conference for his movie Kampon, Derek revealed that Ellen got pregnant, but eventually lost the baby.
Speaking at a recent press conference for the movie Kampon, Derek Ramsay said he remains focused on creating a family with his wife Ellen Adarna. The actor even added that TV projects are not in the pipeline.
“Right now, I’m focusing na magkaroon kami ng baby ni Ellen. Pag nangyari iyon, medyo malabo na tatanggap ako ng project kasi hands-on ako mag-alaga,” Derek said. “So when [the] time comes, siguro hindi muna ako tatanggap ng project. Gusto ko lang yung mag-aalaga ako sa kanya.”
When asked about the plans, Derek admitted that Ellen got pregnant, but sadly suffered a miscarriage. “Nung nasa Spain kami, nalaman namin na preggy si Ellen and unfortunately, we lost the baby,” he shared.
“First attempt pa lang naman… but iyon muna yung focus namin—to have a full pregnancy. Sadly, we lost the baby but at least alam namin na hindi kami baog,” he added.

According to Derek, Ellen tested herself after her period got delayed. She was positive he said, but when they were on their way back to Manila, there were already some signs of concern like spotting. Derek said they’re hopeful to try again next year and that Ellen is okay.
If they do have a child, Derek says he would like to have a girl. “Laging sinasabi ko, boy, pero ngayon parang gusto ko nang magka-baby girl. So, ‘yan talaga ang wish. ‘Yan na lang talaga ang kulang sa life ko.”
Derek and Ellen got married in 2021. Both have sons from previous relationships. Ellen has a son, Elias with ex-partner John Lloyd Cruz while Derek has a son, Austin with his former partner.
Kampon is an entry to the Metro Manila Film Festival which starts on December 25.
