Devil Wears Prada 2 Teaser: Why Millennial Parents Are Excited for Miranda & Andy’s Return
Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reprise their roles in the second movie, coming on May 1, 2026
For the millennials — now moms, titos, and titas — who once lived and breathed fashion, The Devil Wears Prada was the ultimate fashion flick. Now, the duo of Miranda Priestley and Andi Sachs is back as 20th Century unveiled the first teaser for The Devil Wears Prada 2.
Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway reprise their roles as Miranda and Andy in the film.

Working together again?
The almost 1-minute clip began with a pair of feet in what seems to be Valentino rockstud heels walking towards the elevator. It then transitions to different scenes of choosing clothes, the Met Gala, and an assistant zipping a dress on a model.
The woman in red heels is revealed to be Miranda, carrying a stack of Runway magazines. As the elevator closes, a hand stops it and reveals Andy Sachs, who greets Miranda.
“Took you long enough,” Miranda tells Andy as she puts on her sunglasses.
While details remain under wraps, the teaser hints that Andy, who we last saw applying for another position in another publication, is back to help her boss.
The caption goes: “A sequel? For spring? Groundbreaking. Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci return in The Devil Wears Prada 2, in theaters May 1, 2026.”
The teaser sent fans into a frenzy, with many saying they can’t wait for the official trailer to drop.
The Fashion Background
Based on the best-selling novel by Lauren Weisberger, The Devil Wears Prada was inspired by her time at Vogue, with Miranda Priestley widely believed to be modeled after editor-in-chief Anna Wintour. The 2006 film adaptation became a cultural phenomenon, launching a million cerulean sweater references and inspiring a generation to chase their dreams — in heels, of course.
In the story, Andrea “Andy” Sachs finds herself applying for Runway magazine as an assistant to build her portfolio and work for another publication in the future. When she enters Runway, she finds herself struggling with whether she fits into the fashion world.
With the help of one of Runway’s fashion experts Nigel (Stanley Tucci), Andy begins to embrace the fashion world as he boosts her confidence and transforms her into a glamorous fashion assistant.
But as she immerses herself in the fashion world, Andy discovers that beneath the glitz and glamour, there’s a lot of power play and problems hidden.
Clamor for the Film
Since the first film, fans have been clamoring for a sequel to see what has happened to Andi and the cast. After much anticipation, it was announced early this year that a second film would be made.
Several photos and clips of the cast, including an appearance by Meryl Streep in a fashion show in Italy, were leaked online.
In July, Anne Hathaway teased everyone on social media when she wore a cerulean sweater, saying she was heading to “werk.”
Introducing Gen Z and Gen Alpha to Runway
Although we have to wait for May 1, 2026, The Devil Wears Prada 2 is an opportunity to introduce kids to the film that became a classic for many millennial parents. Sometimes it’s great to introduce a fave film to your kid, and who knows, they might enjoy having some fun with fashion.
Back then, we rooted for Andy as she found her confidence. Now, as parents juggling careers and families, we might see a little more of Miranda in ourselves.
