Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre Teaser Shows A New Battle

The one minute teaser shows the new battle the next keepers of the gems will have to face

For many kids who grew up with Encantadia, it introduced them to a new world they never thought they would watch. It has since become part of Filipino pop culture, and when news of a new series was announced, everyone got excited.

Well, the wait is finally over for Encantadiks as GMA Network dropped the first full teaser for Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre on Friday, April 11.

The minute clip, voiced by Imaw, gives us a glimpse into the world of Encantadia years after the war. We also see the keepers of the gems Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya.

But a war is about to happen as Mitena (Rhian Ramos), queen of Mine-a-ve and the twin sister of Cassiopeia, is set to attack the kingdoms of Hathoria, Sapiro, Adamya, and Lireo.

The teaser gives us our first look at the next generation of sang’gres. We see Terra (Bianca Umali), daughter of Danaya, in the world of the mortals, where she grew up. Imaw mentioned that because of danger, Terra’s powers are activated. She is briefly shown alongside Adamus (Kelvin Miranda), son of Queen Alena, in battle.

Pirena’s daughter Flamarra (Faith Da Silva) is also shown, as well as the mysterious Deia ( Angel Guardian), who hails from Mine-a-ve. What part will she play in defending Encantadia?

Excitement for Sang’gre Is Building Up

Since the announcement in 2023, fans of the show, known as Encantadiks have been waiting for information on what to expect for Sang’gre. Bianca Umali, Kelvin Miranda, Faith Da Silva, and Angel Guardian have been busy taping and promoting the show.

Glaiza de Castro, who plays Pirena, hinted that fans won’t have to wait for long as the show is scheduled for the middle of the year.

Visual artist and designer Noel Layon Flores has been dropping hints about the show since it was first announced. He has shared on his social media accounts the costume sketches and emblems of the sang’gres and kingdoms. He also revealed close-up details of Mitena’s costume design.

GMA previously released a 30-second teaser, showing the four sang’gres Pirena, Amihan, Danaya, and Alena- on horseback.

The World of Encantadia

Encantadia was first introduced in 2005 and derived from the hit show Mulawin. It tells the story of four sisters – Pirena, Amihan, Alena, and Danaya who became keepers of the elemental jewels following the attack against the kingdoms of Lireo, Sapiro, and Adamya by the evil king Hagorn of Hathoria.

The show would have two more spin-offs: Etheria: Ang Ikalimang Kaharian ng Encantadia and Encantadia: Pag-Ibig Hanggang Wakas. The show starred Sunshine Dizon, Iza Calzado, Karylle, and Diana Zubiri.

Encantadia was reintroduced in 2016 when a retelling of the story was announced by director Mark Reyes, bringing it to a new generation of fans with Glaiza, Kylie Padilla, Gabbi Garcia, and Sanya Lopez giving life to the four beloved sang’gres. The 2016 show was nostalgic for fans as Sunshine Dizon, Diana Zubiri, Alfred Vargas, and Dingdong Dantes, who were part of the original show, made special appearances.
