Family Tensions, Forgiveness, and Farewells in Meet, Greet & Bye Trailer

The movie stars Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Belle Mariano, Juan Karlos, and Maricel Soriano

What happens when four siblings, divided by distance and disagreements, are brought back together by the return of their mother’s cancer—and the promise of meeting her favorite Korean celebrity? This is the heart of Meet, Greet & Bye, an emotional family drama starring Piolo Pascual, Joshua Garcia, Belle Mariano, Juan Karlos, and Maricel Soriano.

What the Trailer Reveals

In the trailer, the Facundo siblings are shaken when they learn that their mother, Baby (played by Maricel Soriano), has had a cancer recurrence. Though they urge her to undergo chemotherapy, she refuses. Tensions simmer between older brothers Brad (Joshua Garcia) and Tupe (Piolo Pascual), while younger siblings Geri (Belle Mariano) and Leo (Juan Karlos) try to keep the peace.

When Baby’s favorite Korean movie star announces a Meet and Greet event in Manila, Tupe strikes a deal: if their mother agrees to treatment, he’ll get her a ticket.

The trailer then transitions to heartwarming—and heartbreaking—scenes between the siblings and their mom, as her health begins to visibly decline.

A Cast That Became a Family

During the film’s fan meet on October 8, Juan Karlos (JK) shared how close the cast had become.

“Ako personally, hindi ko masyado naramdaman yung trabaho na aspect kasi whether action or hindi, pamilya kami,” he said.

“Feeling ko yung mga manonood ng pelikulang ito, mararamdaman din ninyo – opening pa lang.”

Maricel Soriano, who plays the matriarch Baby, said her younger co-stars even taught her how to use group chats.

“Ngayon ako nag-go-group chat. Natuwa ako, ‘di ba?” she said, laughing. “Ngayon ko lang natutunan ang group chat dahil sa mga anak ko. Tinulungan nila ako.”

Without giving too much away, Piolo Pascual shared that even the design of the film’s poster contains emotional clues.

An Emotional Experience

At the media conference, the cast grew emotional after watching the trailer.

“Sobrang na-attach kami sa proyektong ito,” Belle Mariano said. “Sana ang mensahe nito ay umabot sa mga manonood natin—because it will give so much importance to the people you love in your life.”

Piolo echoed the sentiment. “It hits close to home, especially for Filipino families. Losing someone in the family—it’s always painful, hindi ba?”

He disclosed that while shooting, many of them were already crying, with director Cathy Garcia-Sampana telling them that the audience should be the one crying.

JK, for his part, said that it hit close to home and that the audience should watch it.
