Here’s What We Know About The New Winx Club Reboot

The beloved fairy-centric coming-of-age cartoon, Winx Club, gets a reboot with new graphics and possibly a new story!

Back in the day, millennials grew up with comics like W.I.T.C.H. and Sabrina the Teenage Witch. While some appreciated the more light-hearted witchy aesthetic, some preferred fairies which is what the former Nickelodeon series Winx Club was for. For those who loved fairy tales but wanted to explore a series that focused more on witches and fairies, Winx Club was one of those series and they’re getting a reboot! Here’s what we know so far about the Winx Club Reboot!

What we know so far about the Winx Club Reboot

Winx Club dropped an official trailer to tease the incoming reboot, also announcing that the show would be coming out in 2025. Originally made in 2D, the reboot now boasts 3D graphics and more realistic effects, especially in regards to the fairies’ powers. While the characters retain their original designs, the story may take a different turn with Bloom, the main character, meeting both Stella and Flora instead of being invited by just Stella who was her childhood friend in the original series.

Unlike the original series, the colors appear more realistic and subdued which is something we’re sure as parents we’ll appreciate. Studies have come out with theories that the biggest reason why screen time is so hard to break from kids is because of the bright colors used in modern cartoons that overstimulate them.

The reboot also seems to be highly anticipated considering the live-action of Winx Club had mixed reviews. Named Fate: The Winx Saga, it had a darker approach and wanted to bring in more mature audiences or at least cater to the watchers who had grown up with it. However, some families complained about the pacing of the story and how the fairies, creatures that were supposedly lighthearted, acted more like witches in the show.

According to Animation Magazine, the Winx Club Reboot will be airing on Rai (Italy) and Netflix for worldwide audiences.

A more hopeful look at the Winx Club reboot!

The new Winx Club airing in 2025 is a reboot, meaning the story will most likely be different from the original while retaining some key events. However, the colors and interactions appear to remain true to their original charm, light colors and teen girls trying to figure themselves out. Besides, who doesn’t love a good coming-of-age story with magic?

After all, that’s how adolescence sometimes feels like. We have our own adventures and sometimes discover weird things about ourselves that even get our own parents scratching their heads. In our journey of self-discovery, sometimes we imagine ourselves in a different world that may have a bit of magic.
