Home for Christmas
Modern Parenting in partnership with Rustan’s kicks off the holiday season with a very important message
If you’re on Instagram and Facebook, you’d have seen the flood of holiday photos posted by a couple of hundred families with the hashtags #HomeForChristmas and #ModernParentingXRustans. With all the unexpected and devastating events we have faced as a nation this 2020, Modern Parenting together with Rustans kicked off a social media campaign this weekend to remind everyone that Christmas is not canceled.
The true meaning of the season
In the midst of so much uncertainty, we should remain grateful for what we have, big and small, starting with the gift of a new day — every single day. There is no better way to celebrate the season of giving than to share our blessings and help other families who have suffered from the pandemic and natural calamities, so that they too can feel the Christmas spirit.
By simply being in the moment, we can find peace and respite as we spend time with our loved ones. Even without all the extravaganza that we have been accustomed to, it does not diminish the true meaning of the season.
Making the holidays special in our own little ways
Spending Christmas at home is something we should be looking forward to; in fact, there are so many ways to make it special. Here are just some of the personalities who shared their thoughts…

While we celebrate the festive season with our family and loved ones, may we not forget our brothers and sisters affected by the recent calamities as much as we extend a helping hand to those whose spirits might need an extra lifting this holiday season.

To be with family

Remember the simple and only reason for this season: JESUS!

Recognize the blessings we have and share the love we have in our hearts to those who need it most

Jesus coming to Earth that night changed everything and it’s a moment we should celebrate with all our hearts

Be still and enjoy the quiet Christmas moments without the usual rush of the holidays

Despite everything we are going through right now, we could look to Christ and His purpose for coming into our world in the first place — to save us not from our earthly problems but to defeat the real problem in our lives which is Sin and Death.

Remember the love that surrounds us and the love we ought to give

Create beautiful and fun memories with our families

Savour every moment with family

Tune out the little distractions and be thankful for who we have and what we have

Give our loved ones the gift of time
Through the #HomeForChristmas campaign, we hope to spread messages of hope, love and gratitude to everyone, as well as service to others. Together, let us all look forward to a new year with renewed hope and faith.
Sometimes the silver lining is right in front of us; all we have to do is look closer.
