Jhong Hilario Graduates With Master’s Degree
The It’s Showtime host graduated with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration, a year after getting his college diploma
Jhong Hilario is proof that one can continue improving oneself. A year after getting his college diploma, the It’s Showtime host and Makati politician graduated with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from World Citi Colleges on Thursday, August 29 at the PICC Plenary Hall.
In an interview with ABS-CBN, Jhong said he was able to accomplish his master’s through a modular program. Time management he added was the key to finishing it.
“Yung mga sacrifices, ‘yung minsan busy’ng busy, and siyempre hindi naman biro ang masteral din. Plus ‘yung mga ginagawa pa natin bilang konsehal at artista rin, ang sa akin lang hangga’t nandiyan, hanggang may opportunity go lang nang go,” he said.
Jhong said he’s grateful for the support from his colleagues in Makati and his co-hosts in It’s Showtime.
Jhong’s wife Maia, mom, and daughter Sarina was present to see him march again.
The dream to finish school
Back in 2023 after graduating from college, Jhong said that finishing school was a dream he wanted to fulfill for his parents.
“Masaya kasi pangarap ng parents ko na dati sa akin makapagtapos ng pag-aaral. After ilang years ko nagawa pero napakita ko na tayo’y nag-tiyaga mag-aral para matupad yung mga pangarap nila sa akin.”
Speaking with ABS-CBN, Jhong was asked why it was important for him to continue his education.
“Hanggang kailan ba ko sa pag-aartista? Maganda na rin siguro na may bala ka. Hindi ka habang-buhay artista, if ever na may opportunity na maibigay sa akin bilang public servant at least nakaready ka,” he explained, adding it does not mean he’ll be running for a high position in the 2025 elections.
One thing is for sure, Jhong like the rest of the celebrities returning to school proves that improving oneself through education is important.
