LA Tenorio Says He’s Cancer-Free!

After undergoing chemotherapy in Singapore, Ginebra San Miguel basketball player LA Tenorio says he is now cancer-free and will suit up once again to play.

Ginebra San Miguel basketball player LA Tenorio is cancer-free. After confirming that he was taking treatment for colon cancer, LA took to Instagram to give an update on his treatment done in Singapore.

Saying that the past eight months have been challenging, LA wrote that the challenges were a way of God telling him to rest his mind and spirit.

“February 2023 marked for me one of the hardest periods of my life. From not knowing the extent of cancer I have, to facing my wife and children knowing that I have a life-threatening disease,” he wrote.

“One thing that kept me constant though was God, my faith. I drew my strength from Him. I entrusted everything to Him, believing everything had a purpose.”

LA Tenorio: Cancer changed me

LA continued by saying that the 12 therapy sessions for cancer changed his life. “Just like many other cancer patients, there were bad days but all I can be grateful of is God gave me the the power to continue my life as a father, provider, son, brother, and friend to everyone all throughout my journey.”

When he got the news on September 19 that he was done with chemotherapy, LA said that if there is one message he wants to share with everyone is that he will always be grateful for those who supported him.

“Know that I am forever grateful to all of you. My scan and last test results show no trace of cancer and that the treatment was effective. I am now in remission. Praise God!”

“Now I am returning to basketball. For the love of the game, this time with a higher purpose.”

Now as a better LA, he hopes to inspire people on the love of the game differently.

“Life is short. Let’s live life to the fullest and more meaningful this time. I can’t wait to touch a basketball once again.”
