Lea Salonga Appears With Sesame Street Cast At Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade In New York
Broadway star Lea Salonga returned to New York, appearing alongside the cast of Sesame Street for the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving parade!
The holidays have started in the U.S., with Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 28. One of the traditions everyone looks forward to is the annual Macy’s Parade in New York, where different characters in floats and bands march.
Broadway star Lea Salonga was among those who performed at the annual parade. This time, she joined the cast of the children’s show Sesame Street, which celebrated its 55th year on television. Lea sang “Sing” one of the show’s most popular tunes.
On Instagram, the former Voice coach and Vogue Philippines October cover star wrote: “No, it wasn’t a sunny day, and it would’ve been great if the clouds were swept away, but today’s @macys Thanksgiving Day Parade was still such a wonderful highlight!”
“Thank you, @sesamestreet, this was truly very special, and thank you for plastering the biggest smile on my child’s face. Nic will not be able to erase that smile for a while!”
Lea last appeared at the Thanksgiving Parade in 2017 when she was part of the Once On This Island.
A busy year for Lea
It’s been a busy year for Lea. Aside from a concert tour in early 2024, she returned to the Philippines to have a series of concerts, appeared at the opening of a hotel, and launched her Madame Tussauds wax figure, which will be on display in the Singapore branch.
Lea also starred with Dolly De Leon in the play Request sa Radyo last October.
Lea is currently in the U.S. promoting her Christmas album Sounding Joy and will perform in California, Arizona, and New York this December. She will return to the Philippines during the holidays to perform for a New Year event on December 31.
