A Modern Parent’s Guide to Upgrading Your Home Theater

For families who love to bond over TV shows and movies, this home entertainment setup is a great investment!

When my husband and I were putting together our home, one of our goals as a couple was to set up an elevated home theater. After all, we love spending time together bonding over our favorite shows and movies. This is why we transformed our living room into a place where we can enjoy shows and movies in the most immersive way possible.

My husband is very particular when it comes to graphics and sounds. He’s also tech-savvy and reads or watches reviews on different gadgets before buying them. So when it came to what brand of TV to get for our home theater, we narrowed it down to Samsung. Our reasoning is simple: you can’t go wrong choosing the global number one TV brand for the last 17 years.

With cutting-edge audiovisual technology and a mesmerizing ambiance, we were able to create a comfortable space that delights even our other family members and guests. Whether it’s from the adrenaline rush of an action-packed blockbuster or the heartwarming embrace of a beloved family movie, our upgraded home theater transports us to a world of boundless imagination and unforgettable shared moments. And it’s all thanks to the new 2023 Samsung Neo QLED 8K TV and Q Soundbar.

Samsung Neo QLED TV and Q Soundbar are the new stars of our living room

Since my husband is the more tech-savvy one, he enjoyed helping me learn about the top-of-the-line features that Samsung’s Neo QLED TV offers. I love how our house has a lot of natural light coming in from our large windows. And as the Neo QLED TV provides more accurate light control and better contrast, watching during the day with the bright sunlight coming in is not a problem.

TV images are still vibrant and realistic, and the visibility is top-notch even in a well-lit environment. It even makes use of AI to improve lower–resolution content up to 8K, ensuring us a great viewing experience every time. And pairing that with the Samsung Q Soundbar is truly a great decision. It connects seamlessly to the TV. And by strategically placing the speakers around the home cinema, you’ll be enveloped in a surround sound experience with audio being pushed from every angle.

So, how can you set up your own home theater in the best way possible? Here is what we learned.

1. An easy installation process is key

Setting up Samsung’s Neo QLED TV is a remarkably effortless process. With its user-friendly interface and intuitive instructions, even those with minimal technical expertise like me can accomplish the setup with ease.

To keep the area looking neat and tidy, we really appreciated the Neo QLED’s Slim One Connect Box, Samsung’s cable-management system that can be attached to the back of the TV or placed to the side. The One Connect Box allows easy access to all of the TV’s ports, such as the HDMI 2.1, USB, and Optical Port. It’s a minimalist’s dream to reduce clutter by keeping cables out of sight. The TV and Soundbar can also conveniently connect with Bluetooth. Which means less wires, less mess, and less chance for my toddler and pets to trip over.

2. Get a TV that works hard to give you the best experience

When building our home theater, we wanted to make sure everyone in the family can enjoy it. Not everyone has the same taste in content, so we needed tech that could adjust to everyone’s needs. Samsung’s intuitive user-interface makes it easy to browse content from popular streaming services or even YouTube at a click of a button. The TV also uses artificial intelligence to learn your preferences and recommend what to watch next.

On top of that, the Neo QLED 8K TV comes with an upscaling feature that can boost the resolution of whatever is on the screen to nearly 8K. Even older films that my parents love to watch, like Audrey Hepburn’s Roman Holiday or Breakfast at Tiffany’s, or Clint Eastwood’s Dirty Harry, are brought to life with crisp and clear picture quality. It’s amazing to see movies they grew up with adapted to today’s technology.

We can expect more 8K content to be released in the coming years. So getting your hands on an 8K screen now is really like investing in your entertainment future!

3. Place the speakers in the corners and back of the room

The reason for this is simple: this creates a more immersive home theater experience because you’re using the walls of the house to reflect the sound wave. The Q Soundbar offers multi-dimensional sound engineered with Dolby Atmos, and comes with two up-firing rear speakers and an external subwoofer. By strategically placing the speakers around your home cinema, you’ll be enveloped in a surround sound experience with audio being pushed from every angle.
