Local IG Chic Shoe Brands For The Modern Filipina Mom

Besides a bag and earrings, a mom’s next best friend is a pair of locally-made chic, comfortable, and classy shoes.

While it’s nice to own a pair of branded shoes from Jimmy Choo or Gucci, locally-made shoes aren’t falling short either. These shoes are sturdy and quite flexible in design and size. Their minimalist approach makes it flexible for any modern Filipino mom. And most of all, a lot of these local shoe brands make shoes that are so comfortable — even if they’re heels.

La Soledad

Covering not just bespoke furniture and home pieces, La Soledad assists the artisans of Laguna to create a variety of comfortable shoes such as heels, sandals, mandals, and mules for the modern Filipino mom. The masterminds of La Soledad, sisters Jenny, and Christine, brought this brand to life to not only help the artisans but also solve the age-old problem for most Filipino moms when dealing with local shoe brands: not finding shoes beyond size 8.

The Heel Project MNL

Because every woman needs a comfortable pair of heels, the Heel Project MNL custom-makes heels depending on the wearer’s preference. Heel Project MNL’s owner, Nicole Salvador-Reantaso, works alongside the sapateros or shoemakers of Marikina to bring to life every modern mom’s dream pair of heels. They custom-make shoes for kids, too!

Cora & Bear

Named after the owner’s grandmother and a friend, Cora & Bear assist a small, local family shoe manufacturer. They offer a variety of comfortable, bespoke styles ranging in different materials from leather, suede, and soft velvet. Their biggest size is Size 10.

The Lower Heel

If not sandals, heels, and mandals, the modern Filipino mom would appreciate locally handcrafted genuine leather oxfords and boat shoes from The Lower Heel. Unlike the former brands mentioned, they specialize in making closed-toe shoes which can match anything we wear ranging from jeans to suits.

Ezra Shoes

We’ll always welcome a pair of sandals that has an extra dash of sass. Ezra Shoes specializes in creating a woman’s everyday shoe wear: sandals, heels, and flats. Depending on the style of shoe, the biggest size they can go is Size 10.

Zion Shoes PH

Known for its variety of slip-on shoes, Zion Shoes takes pride in being a product of the Shoe Capital of the Philippines: Marikina. Not only do they handle leather but also woven designs especially for sandals.

Tumtum Shoes

Starting in 2011, local IG shoe shop Tumtum Shoes takes pride in being Filipino-made as well. While they do have some formal and bejeweled pieces, they’re known for making shoes with wedges and thick heels. And mamas, let’s face it: as much as a stiletto is lovely to wear, we’d prefer thicker heels whenever we have to do some networking as mompreneurs or shopping with our mom friends.

The 3 C’s for Local IG Shoes: Chic, Classy, and Comfortable

Although we’re not planning to collect more than 2,700 pairs of shoes, the shoe-holics in every Filipino mom are looking for something comfortable, chic, and easy to run in. Whether it’s for networking or sprinting off to catch our kids, we need shoes that are comfortable because spraining our ankles is definitely not on our bucket list of things to do.
