Miss Philippines and Its Counterpart Accepts Married Candidates!

The Miss Philippines and Mister Pilipinas Worldwide announced that they are accepting candidates who are married and have children.

Philippine pageantry continues to evolve as The Miss Philippines pageant and its counterpart Mister Pilipinas Worldwide announced they are not just accepting potential single candidates but also those married and with children.

The Miss Philippines wrote on Instagram: “Single, married, or a mother — you are a Queen. And you are welcome to join The Miss Philippines! You don’t have to give up your dreams of joining a pageant yet because we believe that mothers and married women can be as effective as single women at being influencers and advocates of Philippine Culture and Heritage.”

“If you fulfill the qualifications and have the passion and purpose, join us. We would love to have you as a candidate at The Miss Philippines.”

On the other hand, the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide statement read: “Mister Pilipinas Worldwide is in search of outstanding Filipino individuals around the globe! Are you single, married, or a father? You are welcome to join! We believe that every individual, regardless of their marital status, can be an influential icon to promote the culture and heritage of the Philippines.”

What are the Mister Pilipinas Worldwide and The Miss Philippines?

The Miss Philippines pageant is the newest pageant under the management of Mercator which promotes Philippine culture. The pageant sends candidates to Miss Supranational and Miss Charm. Most recently, they announced they’ve acquired another pageant, Miss Asia Pacific International. The title is currently held by Pauline Amelinckx, who was 1st runner-up in Miss Supranational 2023.

Mister Pilipinas Worldwide on the other hand is the Miss Philippines’ counterpart in male pageantry. It sends five dashing Filipino men to five international competitions.

The pageant industry has gone through numerous changes in recent years. In 2022, the Miss Universe pageant announced it was accepting married and those with children. Other pageants like Miss France have since followed.
