Parenting Trends That We Say Goodbye To From 2024

We hope this will never be resurrected once we say good riddance!

We’re more than half into the first month of 2025, so many things are already happening. Discussing trends, especially in parenting, can be challenging since there is no one-size-fits-all when raising a family. Having a guide can help, so here are some trends we hope won’t come back and maybe we as family members should reflect upon them.

Parenting Trends We Hope Will Disappear

Parenting Trends We Hope Will Disappear

The “Sephora kids” trend

Last year, TikTok was dominated by young kids around seven or eight years old talking about their skin routine after buying products from Sephora. These kids were called the “Sephora kids,” which caused major concerns among parents and health experts.

Although nothing is wrong with reminding kids about the importance of a good skin routine, they are still young, and some ingredients may not be good for them. Always consult a dermatologist or doctor before letting your child put something in her face.

The decline of “sharenting”

Parents love talking about their children, even sharing too much information about them online. Now, these parents’ children are growing up, and many of them have become uncomfortable with the information they share on social media.

Although it’s okay to share some information about the family, there are some things that should not be shared online.

Bye-bye to too much gentle parenting

Gentle parenting is one of the styles that have risen in years as millennial parents ensure to discipline their kids without resorting to screaming or hitting. But there are some consequences to this method. Sometimes, kids just don’t listen to their parents, and they shrug it out.

Although there is nothing wrong with ensuring that your kids’ needs are prioritized, there are situations where it doesn’t happen. Parents still need to enforce some strict reminders to their children but at the same time, practice what they feel is right in raising them.

We will be seeing more trends soon

It’s only the beginning of the year and we will be seeing trends in the next months. Parenting as we all know continues to evolve, so we’re going to be seeing a lot of techniques from parents, especially since we entered a new generation – Generation Beta.
