Should Kids Play The Remastered Plants vs. Zombies?
Plants vs. Zombies gets remastered as Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted and is planned to be released this October!
It looks like the zombies are back, but so are the plants to keep them off the lawn. From the basic Peashooter to the unyielding Tallnut, the classic Plants vs. Zombies returns with remastered effects. Better graphics, better sounds, but the same thrilling fun in making sure that the zombies don’t go after our brains. Now known as Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, it’s just in time for Halloween—this October 24, 2025!

“There’s a zombie on your lawn!”
While Gen Beta has Roblox’s peaceful Grow A Garden simulator, millennials and the early Gen Z spent their days fighting the apocalypse with powerful, zombie-beating plants.
The game Plants vs. Zombies has incredibly simple gameplay: stop the zombies by planting the appropriate plants to stop them. If one gets past, then it’s game over. Each plant is specifically designed to beat a kind of zombie on a specific terrain. While there’s the typical lawn (with day and night mode), there’s also the pool and the roof to worry about.
But what we love about Plants vs. Zombies is the strategy it demands. We can’t just plant those zombie-beating plants willy-nilly. There’s a resource system wherein we use sunlight to “plant” more plants. While the sunlight does drop from the sky every so often during the stage, we also had to plant Sunflowers to generate more sun to plant more!
What’s new in the remastered Plants vs. Zombies?
Besides keeping to the classics, Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted also offers new modes like Co-Op mode where players can fight back-to-back to keep the zombies away, and PvP (Player versus Player) for those who are little more competitive. The PvP mode has one player control the zombies while the other one sets up the green brigade to stop the incoming onslaught.
There’s also an extra hard mode for the kids or the kids at heart called Cloudy Day. With less sun, it means we really have to think carefully about what plants to put out.
And for the truly hardcore, “Rest in Peace” is the hardest game mode, where one loss sends the players straight back to the beginning. This is probably for the kids at heart and parents who want a more stimulating mental challenge.
But if we’re just there to enjoy the game, then no worries! Mini-games like Wall-nut Bowling are available too!

Should kids play this video game?
Ever wonder where the older generation learned how to calculate and manage their resources effectively? Plants vs. Zombies is one of those games. The resource management came from wanting to complete the stage, or at least finish the game.
According to Epic stores, the minimum requirement for Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted doesn’t require a high-end computer. And don’t worry, you can easily check the properties by right-clicking “My Computer” and selecting properties. The minimum requirements are as follows:
- OS Version: Windows 10 64-bit or later
- CPU: AMD FX-6300 / 3rd gen i3 or better
- Memory: 4 GB RAM
- GPU: Intel Integrated Graphics
- DirectX: DirectX 11
- Storage: 4 GB
Ordering and buying the remastered Plants vs. Zombies is a one-time purchase on the Epic Store. Meaning, there’s no need to pay any subscription or additional costs unless we’re getting some extra content.
Shall we give it a shot? It’s also an opportunity to bond with the kids over video games. Because if it’s one thing kids love to play, it’s video games.
