Cubao’s Christmas On Display Is Now Back In Araneta City!

The Christmas on Display is back in Araneta City, Cubao and on its return, it tells the story of the Nativity.

The Christmas on Display, a tradition that started in the 60s in Cubao, Quezon City is back. It opened last November 18 at Park Square in Araneta City.

Cubao’s Christmas on Display Tells The Nativity Story

For the return of the Christmas on Display, the creators behind it decided to go back to the story of the Nativity, when Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem on Christmas Day.

“The Nativity of Jesus Christ is the family’s much loved Christmas theme,” says Maria Isabel Rosario, who represented the Rosario family, the makers of the COD. ” And it was with much joy for our family that our big boss Jorge Araneta personally chose this theme, a theme of faith, hope, and charity.”

“It is fitting [since] the national came from two years of the lockdowns and strict COVID protocols.”

Isabel, together with the Araneta management team says they hope people will enjoy a tradition that started back in the 60s.

“When we launched our Christmas Display in Cubao, I was amazed to see a helicopter circling the area and landing on the same spot where the display stands today,” she said. “It carried a former actress, Liberty Ilagan, a beautiful actress, wearing a Cinderella outfit and she was recorded by Santa Claus. They got down from the helicopter and were led to our building and also inaugurated the first animated display, much to the delight of everyone.”

The Rosario family, Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, TV host and comedian Melai Cantiveros, and also her two daughters Mela and Stella led the formal opening of the COD.

Fiesta Mini-Carnival

Aside from the COD, the area also houses the mini Festival Carnival, where families can take part in games and rides like the carousel. For a minimum of P50, kids can play and ride all they want.

On top of the rides, families can also have quick bites at food concessionaires nearby.

The COD has two shows every hour from Monday to Sunday and will run until January 8, 2023.
