When the perfect glass of wine pairs with the perfect meal, it’s a small peek into happy living for parents

Because parenting is both beautiful and absolutely exhausting, there are days we need the perfect glass of wine to “take the edge off.” It’s a moment of peace in a glass; forget figuring out what taste notes it’s made of. But with many kinds of wine on the shelf, how does any parent know which one does that right? In the case of the Mitjavile Trade Lunch held last February 26, 2025, Happy Living showed that the best way to tell is to pair them with great dishes.

Unwind With The Perfect Glass Of Wine

Hosting the wine gathering at Wolfgang Steakhouse BGC, Happy Living invited wine connoisseurs, industry leaders, and select trade partners to meet with Louis Mitjavile as he held an intimate discussion about his family’s winemaking heritage and the dedication that goes into producing world-renowned wines. Guests were also treated to a culinary experience specially curated to complement the featured wines, including Wolfgang’s signature steak dishes — a classic pairing for red wine.

But wines don’t always have to go with meals. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying a glass of wine by itself! When we don’t feel like chewing but want something warm and fruity then, the wine fits the bill. Besides, it also helps us settle down; wine always had this ability to help us (especially high-strung parents) let go of the usual inhibitions that stop us from unwinding.

A Taste of Happy Living

Besides helping us unwind, some popular family-friendly dishes rely on red wine to deglaze the pan. Favorite pasta dishes like Bolognese and Lasagna sometimes rely on red wine as an ingredient in more fine-dining restaurants so, if ever we want to try to level up meals at home, we can start from there! We wouldn’t worry too much about the alcohol content if the kids are eating it since it’s usually boiled off.

So, whether we’re adding a touch of sophistication to our cooking or simply seeking a moment of relaxation, there’s always a good reason to have the perfect bottle of wine on hand.
