The Metro Manila Film Festival is fast approaching and just like past festivals, the annual Parade of Stars will happen on December 21 in Manila. It returns to the city as it celebrates its 50th year.
Ten floats will go around the city, starting at Kartilya ng Katipunan and ending at the old Manila Post Office.
Other areas include Kalaw Street, Recto, Ayala Boulevard, Recto, and Taft.
Activities leading up to December 25
Before the Parade, a MMFF concert was held at the Malacañang ground last December 15, as part of the promotions. Several stars from the 10 films were present, attended by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Before the MMFF concert, a golf tournament was held in Madaluyong.
The Metro Manila Film Festival has become one of the events families do during the holidays. From December 25 to the first week of January, cinemas around the country dedicate is theaters to Filipino films.
This year’s line-up of films ranges from family drama, action, comedy, and horror. It also marks the return of two prominent personalities who have been part of the festival for years – Vice Ganda and Vic Sotto.
Vic, known for doing comedy films is set to star in his first serious role as the king in The Kingdom opposite Piolo Pascual.

Modern Parenting cover star Dennis Trillo returns to the MMFF, this time alongside Ruru Madrid in Green Bones. Iza Calzado is also part of two films in special roles – The Kingdom and Green Bones.
Other films include Espantaho, Uninvited, Topakk, Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital, Isang Himala, Hold Me Close, and My Future You.
