WATCH: Olivia Manzano-Reyes Singing Her First Cover
Olivia Manzano-Reyes produces her first cover—Alicia Keys’ ‘Girl on Fire’.
After what seemed to be forever, Olivia Manzano-Reyes finally attended her voice lessons face-to-face. But it wasn’t just a class. Because along with that class, it was a recording session. When she entered the recording booth, Andi shared how the little girl had her “game face on”. Andi Manzano-Reyes soon posted the video recording on Instagram—proud of every moment her daughter hit the notes.
Andi: “You are on fire, Olivia!”
Singing ‘Girl on Fire’ is no easy feat especially for kids—considering how much belting there is in the song. However, Olivia worked hard at her voice lessons—eventually producing her cover of Alicia Keys’ song. According to Andi, the video she took was recorded straight and with few repetitions. Even Olivia’s vocal coach and teacher, Jade Riccio, said “it was one of the shortest recording sessions she’s ever had”.
Apparently, the teacher-student duo had been planning this cover for some time. Vocal coach Jade Riccio even mentions how Olivia is one of her youngest students. She also mentioned how seeing her students’ expressions when they first hear themselves on the microphone is always so priceless.
A teary-eyed and proud mama
Proud mom Andi added on her Instagram how the video made her teary-eyed. She writes, “I am so amazed and teary-eyed with this video. Go for your dreams little girl. We are here for you all the way!”
We can only imagine how much more Olivia can do when she starts making more covers. After all, if it’s her dream, the sky’s the limit. You go, Olivia!
