What Went Down During the Cetaphil Baby Dialogues
Empowerment and a sense of camaraderie among first-time and expert moms dominated the Cetaphil Baby Dialogues last October.
Nothing links us so powerfully with other parents than shared experiences. Regardless if it’s the projectile pee that makes it look like you peed your own pants or the fussy crying that wakes you up in the middle of the night, there’s always something about these moments that really makes motherhood both a journey and a community.
Just imagine finding others who can relate to your woes and wonders; it can make the tough days a whole lot more bearable and the good times even more pleasant. All it takes is just one story to ignite unexpected friendships and endless support systems.
Recently, Cetaphil Baby held the Cetaphil Baby Dialogues at Señorita Sunae, an event dedicated to forming a community of mothers, where they can share their experiences, learn from each other, and celebrate the beautiful journey of motherhood.
Narratives About Motherhood and Childcare
Gracing the event were Cetaphil Baby Brand Ambassador Andi Manzano and board-certified Dermatologist and Dermatopathologist, Mara Huber, M.D.. Both discussed the four pillars of raising a healthy baby: healthy food, healthy play, healthy sleep, and healthy skin.
“When they’re newborns, you have to be exceedingly careful about their skincare routine. Start with simple. As they get older and start to be more exposed to different environments, you have to adjust and make certain changes because it’s not good for their development if you keep them away from the world,” emphasized Dr. Huber, who drew from her expertise and experience in addressing various dermatological issues in infants.
Lyka Lopez, the Cetaphil Baby Country Brand Manager, proceeded to explain the importance of gentle and hypoallergenic skincare for babies. “Cetaphil Baby products cover the three important steps for a baby’s skin routine—cleanse, moisturize, and protect.” She added that through this regimen, parents are assured that they are giving the healthy start their baby’s skin deserves.
She continued, “[Our] products are formulated with gentle and hypoallergenic ingredients, and are free from harsh chemicals and parabens. [It’s] reassuring that your baby is protected in all the needed newborn essentials.”
Empowering Mommies With Well-deserved Me Time
Andi Manzano reminded all the moms in the audience to give themselves grace and enjoy the journey of motherhood. She also stressed the importance of mommy time: “When they’re sleeping, that’s [my] time for me.”
She further shared a funny anecdote regarding Amelia’s new hobbies: “She likes watching me bathe her baby sister. And now she even wants to start bathing herself!” Andi laughed. “I don’t want her to be too independent yet.”
Meanwhile, Kaye Ang from Mamacademy PH—a group focused on empowering mothers through learning—made the afternoon even more fun and educational for the attendees. She hosted a series of quick games and interactive sessions, where first-time moms had the opportunity to learn about bathing and swaddling tips for healthy skin and sleep.
Li Tayag from Present Parenting Solutions also conducted a short seminar on fostering healthy play and providing nourishing food for their babies. “Make sure your husband also knows how to do these things,” Tayag explained. “You both need to share the responsibility of raising your baby.”
Upon the conclusion of the Cetaphil Baby Dialogues, all moms who attended the event were left with a wealth of knowledge, newfound friendships—and ultimately, the confidence to embark on the wonderful journey of motherhood. It was a testament to the power of community, education, and the importance of self-care during this special phase of a woman’s life.
