What to Expect in the Philippine Book Festival 2023
The Philippine Book Festival 2023 is back and they’re heading to Manila and Davao!
The Philippine Book Festival is back and this year’s edition promises to be bigger than the previous years. After almost three years, a book festival for the family on-site is definitely something everyone is looking forward to.
The Manila edition is scheduled from June 2 to 4 at the World Trade Center and admission is free. But you need to register to get a QR code for entrance. Here are four things to expect in this year’s Philippine Book Festival.

1. The Philippine Book Festival is going to Davao
It’s not just Manila that will have fun at the Philippine Book Festival! The National Book Development Board (NBDB) announced it will bring the festival to Davao on August 18, 19, and 20 at the SMX Davao.
2. It highlights the best Filipino authors and illustrators
The Philippine Book Festival will give a chance to all Filipino authors and illustrators. Their books will be something that book lovers can look forward to checking out during the three-day event.
3. There will be workshops that families can attend
It’s not just books that families can look forward to. There are also several workshops that parents and kids can attend. Author, teacher, and historian Ambeth Ocampo, The Rain in España’s author Gwyn Saludes, and actress-turned-editor and author Rica Peralejo-Bonifacio are just among the speakers who will be part of the event. Some of the workshops are free while others charge about PHP 400.
4. The joy of reading with a physical book
After being online for so long, families will definitely feel the presence of physical books. While we enjoy the convenience of doing things online or being virtual, nothing compares to holding a physical book and scanning its pages.
