5 Places To Order Good Lechon For Christmas Dinner
It’s not a Filipino Christmas without a good Lechon. Here are 5 places to order Lechon for our Christmas dinners.
It’s Filipino tradition to have a whole Lechon sitting in the middle of a Christmas dinner. Even after the holidays, we can easily turn that Lechon into Lechong Paksiw or Pritson (a cheaper alternative to wrapped duck). A lot of times, we have to preorder them so they’ll arrive just in time for Christmas Eve. But not all Lechons are made equal and we’ve become quite picky with it. Without further ado, here are 5 places that have good Lechon for your Christmas dinner.
1. Timplador De Cebu Lechon House
Probably one of the closest we’ve tasted to the authentic Zubuchon, Timplador De Cebu‘s Lechon is so tasty that we don’t even need the typical Lechon sauce to eat it with. It’s best enjoyed with just a simple spiced vinegar to refresh the palate after each bite. Timplador also does sisig and boneless and chopped Lechon belly if you want something smaller for your intimate Christmas dinner. They also sell by the kilo and we always have to order early, they tend to get full with orders fast.
2. Zubuchon
Zubuchon doesn’t just sell Lechon. They have a variety of recipes that use their Lechon also to build up your menu for a Christmas dinner. They have Lumpiang Kare-Kare, Lechong Monggo, and their Ensaladang Kamatis, Itlog na Maalat, at Tinapang Bangus is a must have when eating Zubuchon’s Lechon. If you’re planning to order, you can order directly from their website, through Grab, or call one of their branches nearest to your home so they can deliver.
3. Esting’s Bellychon
Esting’s Bellychon takes pride in the stuffing of their Kapampangan-style boneless Lechon belly that’s probably going to be a hit during your Christmas dinner. They have a Zubuchon version and two more: one is a Chilichon (a spicy version) and a Bringhechon that has egg and rice inside. Besides Lechon belly, they’ve created other recipes that use their Lechon. Their Adobo sa Gata‘s one of their more unique dishes along with their Bicol Express which you can try out by ordering from their website or through Grab and Foodpanda.
4. Elars Lechon
Elars Lechon is famous around Metro Manila for its crispy skin and how well it pairs with the sweet Lechon sauce. It’s a city-wide favorite for those who want Lechon for Christmas and offer other recipes such as Rellenong Bangus for those more into fish than pork. If you’re planning a Zoom Christmas party, Elars also does party pack meals that you can send out to your loved ones so everybody can enjoy Lechon during the Zoom Christmas dinner.
5. Sabroso Lechon
For those who love the fat in their Lechon, Sabroso Lechon‘s got thick fat that clings to that crispy brown skin. Because of the fat, it’s easy to heat again and use it for other meals especially if you want to make Lechon Rice or Lechong Paksiw. They have a variety of Lechon for Christmas dinners from the typical boneless Lechon belly to the Cochinillo or Lechon de Leche. Because they’re a crowd favorite, they tend to go fast too. So order while you can.
It’s not a Filipino Christmas dinner without Lechon!
Lechon’s been a big part of our Christmas Eve dinner that it’s weird if we don’t have one to eat! Even in intimate gatherings, we’re sure that we’d still order a kilo or two. It’s a celebration after all; no sense in holding back when it comes to choosing the best Lechon for our Christmas dinner. But make sure you order early. Otherwise, we might end up missing out and losing our orders during the Christmas rush.
