Four years since the first movie, Jason Momoa is back as Aquaman or Arthur Curry in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom. Scheduled for a December 20 release in the United States, so much has happened since Arthur found out about his life as the son of an undersea king. The trailer was recently unveiled and here’s what we can expect from the film.
Life as a Dad and King
In the trailer, we get a quick glimpse of Arthur’s life as a father, husband, and king of Atlantis. While there are some comedic moments, the film will surely leave us tugging heartstrings on how he’ll do it all in one while battling Black Manta.
Nicole Kidman returns as Aquaman’s mother
Academy Award winner Nicole Kidman returns as Atlanna, Arthur’s mother who will aid her son and his family in the battle to save the kingdom from Black Manta.
Black Manta vs. Aquaman
Since their last battle, Black Manta’s anger has not subsided, and vows to avenge the death of his father in the first film. It will be a truly epic battle between him and Aquaman.
The alliance between Aquaman and Orm
Arthur and his brother, Orm, the former King of Atlantis set aside their differences to save not only Atlantis but the other kingdoms and humankind from Black Manta’s vengeance.
The Story of the Lost Kingdom
To defeat Black Manta, Aquaman and Orm will discover more secrets including the lost kingdom and the power of the Black Trident that they must crush to save Atlantis.
Aquaman is the latest DC film from Warner Bros this year following Shazam: Fury of the Gods and The Flash.
