LIST: 2024 Holiday Drinks That Families Can Try
With the holidays around the corner, cafés and big coffee shops have been releasing some of their limited-edition 2024 holiday drinks
Whether it’s to get new merchandise or want a new spin on coffee, holiday drinks are always worth a try. There’s no denying the charms of the traditional cuppa Americano, Long Black, Latté, or Cappuccino but, some of us just want that little extra push to feel better during the holidays. While some may not be everyone’s cup of tea (or coffee in some cases), here are some of the limited edition Holiday Drinks 2024 we did try:
1. Candid Coffee’s Matcha Horchata
Although Candid Coffee follows a drink of the month (D.O.M) mechanic and this particular isn’t coffee, we have to be quite candid: their base horchata is what got us hooked to their Matcha one. Also offering vegan options for their Horchata, it’s smooth to even make it a Dirty Horchata (which is just adding a shot of espresso) or some Matcha for that nice earthy flavor. We can even make a Dirty Matcha Horchata — just ask for an extra shot of espresso!
2. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf’s White Chocolate Ice Blended®
Famous for their Ice Blended® drinks, Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL) offers a more kid-friendly holiday drink by reviving their White Chocolate Ice Blended® as a limited edition drink. It’s nostalgia in a cup, especially for many of CBTL’s old patrons who used to drink the classic White Chocolate Dream. With a sweetened white chocolate syrup on top of the whipped cream, the milky creation comes with both a coffee and coffee-free version.
3. Seattle’s Best Caramel Pecan Collection
For those who love Pecan pie or Butter Pecan then, you’re in for a treat from Seattle’s Best! The sweet and buttery flavor profile mixes with the nutty, bittersweet coffee from Seattle’s Best, creating four drinks: the Hot Caramel Pecan (for non-coffee lovers or those cuddle-weather days) and three iced drinks: the Iced Caramel Pecan, the Caramel Pecan Javakula, and the Caramel Pecan Javanilla.
4. Starbucks’ Salted Pretzel Cocoa Oatmilk
While the big coffee giant will still offer some of its beloved holiday classics such as the Foff, it introduces a new drink into the selection: the Salted Pretzel Cocoa Oatmilk. Mixing the typical snacks that many of us munch on Christmas Eve into a single caffeinated creation, the Salted Pretzel Cocoa Oatmilk offers a balance and crunch of both sweet and salty for those fond of treats like salted caramel brownies.
5. ZUS COFFEE®’s Gula Melaka Frappé
Opening last 2023 and into 2024, the Malaysian-based ZUS COFFEE quickly became popular for their more Southeast Asian-centric creations. Thus, it’s no surprise that their holiday drink reflects the same belief as their Gula Melaka Frappé. Using coconut milk instead of typical milk, the Gula Melaka Frappé is perfect for the lactose-intolerant families out there who still want to have a cup of the holiday spirit.
6. Serenitea’s Festive Coolers
What’s the drink we always have after a rich Filipino Christmas family dinner? Tea! In collaboration with Twinnings Cold Infuse, Serenitea is releasing some fruit tea coolers to clean out all the rich food we had from the multiple Christmas parties we’ve attended. They currently have three flavors: Pink Sunset, Golden White Grape, and Peach Dream.
7. CoCo Fresh Tea and Juice’s Floral Tea Lattés
Another one for tea lovers this holiday, CoCo Fresh Tea and Juice offers floral tea lattés to soothe the soul. Best enjoyed warm or hot, CoCo’s offerings include the delicately nutty and apricot-like Osmanthus Tea Latte, the earthy Jasmine Tea Latte, and the mildly sweet Rose Tea Latte. Both the creamy milk base and the floral tea give quite a grounding feeling, especially after a lot of haphazard planning for Christmas parties.
8. J.CO Cream Dream Latté Series
While J.CO’s made itself famous among us for its donuts, its coffee is no pushover! Their latest offering for Christmas 2024 is their Cream Dream Latté series, playing on the Irish cream or just the concept of a latté this holiday. Besides their hot and iced Irish Cream Latté that’s topped with a dollop of their milky and rich Irish Cream, they also have the milk-chocolate dipped Cream Latté donut which they dusted with Espresso powder.
And the list grows longer for the holiday drinks 2024 menu!
Some of us may not have the chance to celebrate the holidays with the family so, we can settle for having a cup of the festive cheer. Especially if we live far away or work in an industry where there are no holidays like restaurants or hospitals, we’d like to be thought of still. Or, if we have members in the industry, we can always send them something to cheer them on too!
