Blue’s Clues Steve Burns Looks After His Now Grown-Up Audience With His New Podcast

Those who grew up with Blue’s Clues are in for a treat with Steve Burns’ latest podcast!

Many of us will remember our childhood afternoons screaming, “A clue! A clue!” at the TV screen, hoping Nickelodeon’s Blue’s Clues host, Steve Burns, would hear us. And lucky for us, Steve is carrying that same spirit into his new and upcoming podcast, Alive, where he talks about topics and issues that are “near and dear to the heart of his millennial fans.” From personal finance to modern love, the first season, according to Burns, will tackle those topics in light of being “human in a complicated world.”

Who is Steve Burns?

Steve Burns long served as the host of the Nickelodeon kids’ show, Blue’s Clues. Each episode was a mystery game, figuring out what Blue wanted to do. With his handy-dandy notebook and thinking chair, everyone would gather together to figure out what Blue’s Clues meant. Mini-games would pop up, mid-episode, and challenge our ability to think. Eventually, he would be replaced by Joe while he “went to college” for a while.

For a long time, he would stay quiet until he popped up one day on X (formerly Twitter), checking on everybody. It was in 2021 when his post went viral as millennials flocked to it and began sharing their life milestones. Some reminisced about spending their childhood watching Blue’s Clues. Others would reveal how their lives had ups and downs. But many applauded him for giving them the closure they wanted. Some even mentioned how he did a better job giving them closure than their own parents.

“And then look at you and look at all you have done and all you have accomplished in all that time,” Burns said in the Tweet. “I guess I just wanted to say that after all these years, I never forgot you. Ever. And I’m super glad we’re still friends.”

What else do we know about his podcast?

His podcast titled Alive is soon to release its first season and will have weekly episodes. Steve will be producing the podcast with Lemonada Media — the same studio that produced Confessions of Female Founder with the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle.

He hopes to create a podcast that “listens back.” “The world right now is like, everybody is shouting and nobody is listening. So, I want to make something that can be part conversation, and part podcast. Like this,” he gestures in the reel.

As he starts producing his podcast, Steve Burns has become the modern day Mr. Rogers. After all, for many of us and our adult kids, adulthood is no easy thing to navigate!
