Ritz Azul Reflects on Pregnancy Losses and the Journey to Welcoming Her Son
The actress opened up about the heartbreaks she and her husband, Allan Guy, faced before finally welcoming their first child together
In early May, actress Ritz Azul surprised followers when she shared a candid photo of her and husband Allan Guy’s newborn son on social media, confirming that she had quietly welcomed her first child.
While the couple has yet to reveal many details about their baby boy, Ritz recently opened up about the emotional road they traveled on their way to parenthood—a journey marked by faith, patience, and resilience.
A Journey Filled With Hope and Heartbreak
Behind the joyful arrival of their son were years of trying and two painful pregnancy losses.
“Year 2024, nagkaroon kami ng miscarriage. Early stage of pregnancy. Mid-2025, ectopic. Nag-melt siya on its own, no need ng surgery. Late 2025, nag-positive ulit, and ito na siya,” Ritz shared.
After experiencing loss, she admitted that celebrating their third positive pregnancy test didn’t come easily.
“Nung nag-positive ulit, unsure kami. Hindi kami makapag-celebrate, unlike noong unang positive test. Itong third positive test, parang nandiyan lang siya. Kinakabahan na baka mawala ulit, pero siyempre nandiyan ang pagtitiwala na ibibigay ng Diyos ang makakabuti para sa amin.”
Today, she remains grateful for how her pregnancy and delivery unfolded.
“Ang dami naming pinagpapasalamat sa Diyos. Isa doon ay kahit high-risk pregnancy, nakapag-normal delivery pa rin, sa tulong at awa Niya.”
She also reflected on the lessons she learned throughout the experience.
“Hindi natin hawak lahat ng bagay. Wala tayong control sa lahat. Aside from ginagawa natin ang best natin, maganda rin na mag-pray at maging panatag na mangyayari ang mabuti para sa atin.”
The heartfelt reel she shared online featured moments from her pregnancy journey, including doctor visits, baby bump milestones, and the hours leading up to her son’s birth.
Friends and fellow celebrities quickly filled the comments section with messages of support.
“Love you guys! You did well as parents. To God be the glory,” wrote actress and fellow mom Maxine Medina.
“Strong mama!! So proud and happy for you guys!! In God’s perfect time!!” added actress Thia Thomalla.

Embracing a Quieter Season of Life
Before becoming a mom, Ritz spoke with Modern Parenting about stepping away from the spotlight and embracing a slower, more intentional lifestyle.
While she admits she misses showbiz, she has enjoyed spending time on personal passions and strengthening family relationships.
“I finally get to do things I’ve always wanted to do—learning pottery, playing golf, traveling, helping my husband with his business,” she shared. “Most of all, I get to spend quality time with him and our families. Life feels peaceful. And now, we’re stepping into a new chapter.”
Though acting remains close to her heart, she believes this season of life required a different priority.
“I miss the people—the camaraderie on set, the creative energy,” she said. “Acting has always been an emotional outlet for me. There were projects I really wanted to do, but the timing just wasn’t right. I had to honor where I am now.”
Building a Home Rooted in Love
Now that her son has arrived, Ritz is focused on creating a nurturing environment where he can thrive.
“I grew up in a family full of love, and I hope our son experiences the same,” she said. “We’re not perfect, but I hope he sees the effort we make for our family.”
When asked about the value she hopes to pass on most, her answer was simple: love.
“In this generation, there’s so much hatred—online and everywhere else,” Ritz reflected. “I want my child to grow up with love in his heart. Love teaches patience, kindness, and hope. If you lead with love, it becomes easier to see the good in life—and good things will follow.”
As Ritz and Allan begin this new chapter as parents, their story serves as a reminder that while the road to parenthood is not always straightforward, love, faith, and perseverance can help families navigate even the most difficult seasons.
